A Few Roost Shot With The 12g Urika Light

Not that many but awesome sport. Flicking high over the tree tops out of nowhere with a moment to gauge whether they are shootable or miss my chance. For the reloaders I was using 25grains of NG80 over 30grams of no6, seems like a real fast load and really pulls them down from a height. The gun is only 6 1/2 lbs so can be swung on to them fast enough to have a fighting chance of a kill. I'll be glad when the trees finally give up all their leaves so I can get a clearer view of what's heading my way. All full of acorns or haw berries, wheat from heaven knows where and very little rape

Nice job SIH. Ideal gun for a bit of shooting where you need fast reactions.

We had a walk and stand day Friday but still a lot of leaf for roost shooting. It's dropping quick though after a few frosts last week.

I seem to recall that last year the leaves were pretty much gone at the start of November. Maybe the temperatures were lower then and the winds higher ???

Good shooting and a Nice photo also. I use the Urika 391 12g.....is your gun different Urika Light?

A lot of the components are alloy based rather than steel, the fore end nut for example is a plastic coated alloy and even the walnut is chosen from a less dense type. Loses about a pound in weight which is a lot if you're carrying it far or holding it ready to shoot for hours :good:

Nice little bag there Andy. Just shows that its not all about getting large numbers, but the quality of the day :good: I expect the wheat was from pheasant feeders somewhere nearby. They are having a real go on some of my shoots, as are the squirrels  I was chatting to a keeper a couple of days ago and he was saying there is so much food around, acorns, beech mast etc, that the pheasants aren't touching the feeders.
