team tractor
A serious question here. My friend lost the battle against cancer recently and his wife asked me if I'd like his shooting clothing . I'm unsure how I feel about wearing them :( and have told his wife I'll ask the guys at the club if they want what's left so it won't be wasted It's Laksen clothing which is nice and to be honest I needed a new fleece but is it right ? old rooster
Surely a nice way to remember your mate? You'd think of him each time you wore his gear, probably give you a smile if you could recall some of the good times you spent together? bighit1985
Either that or sell the items and donate the money to a charity or something in his memory.

ph5172
We have always done the same, I wear a belt that belonged to a friend (it still has his name written in the back), I feel it is a nice way to carry on the memories we all used to share
sitsinhedges
My uncle John died suddenly a couple of years back at xmas. I had to clear his flat and came across his Beretta skeet vest which I always wear now when I go clay bashing. Equally I would be glad for my friends or family to still be taking me shooting and to still be in their thoughts via the things I leave behind. WGD
I think I would find it tough, but ultimately a mark of respect and a way to remember your friend in the field. The difficulty I would imagine would come when that clothing needs replaced, you would throw out old stuff of your own but may find that more difficult to do with your friend's? What would he want? team tractor
I don't feel so bad now . Cheers lads. I feel for his family and grand kids etc as it's gutted them . It just felt like I'm out for a free bee but I'm not :(

WGD
He would chuckle and say " it's no good to me when I'm gone " And when you've a quiet moment of contemplation in the hide or high seat you can tell him, "I'm freezing, what did you leave me this **** for!" Sorry you've lost a friend.

southern
Sorry to hear about your friend :( I agree with the others - if you feel comfortable wearing his clothes, I'm sure he would want you to have them, and they'd be a good way of keeping him close. bisondan
Sorry for your loss. I lost my grandfather earlier this year, he was very dear to me, loved the countryside and shooting. I was left with his HW35 air-rifle, some shotgun cartridges, and his watch. I've shot rabbits with the air-rifle and the shotgun cartridges and I always wear the watch with me whenever I'm out shooting, to me it's like having a part of him still with me. Lord Geordie
Sorry to hear about your Friend passing away! But I would think of you don't want to wear them, then with his Mrs Permission! You could sell them to raise money for Charity of her choosing.perhaps!
