fruity
A few different ways but , Get a cheap clock tie it securely to something , fishing line around the battery then onto some bait and if Charlie is around you know what time he has called

njc110381
Most important factors are getting a clock that's silent, analogue (sounds obvious but I'd hate to see some silly sod buy a digital! ) and then get a pack of the cheapest batteries you can find. They only need to run for a couple of days so cheap pound shop stuff is ideal.

sako751sg
Just get a trail cam...... Yip.Ive started putting one doon the week before a big moon to see the times they are coming because they dont usually deviate much night to night. Also, the clock method only allows you to see the time of one fox, where the camera just keeps clicking.Have had one set since last Sunday and should have been oot last night but too cloudy, and knackered,so will lift it today and have a look. kent
Just get a trail cam...... Depends what you want to spend, how many you put out and the chance of theft. Its a bit like telling someone who is thinking of a little scooter to buy a 30k car. Battery alarm clocks can be had in the pound shops and are likely under £5 a boots etc.
Dekers
The Fox visit clock is a simple, clever and pretty cheap option, usually effective as well! Just be careful with some clocks as they are designed with battery changes in mind and can run on for some time with no battery!

The Essex Hunter
My mate said their was a method of making a clock that stopped when the fox takes the bait? I'm interested in making one so any ideas welcome please How can you tell it is a fox....the clock method only marks the time when the bait is taken!! There are a number of choices! Prints will narrow it down. It is a very hit and miss method with no evidence of the culprit!! It belongs on Blue Peter!! Bait takers take your pick... Cat! Badger! Dog! Mink! Fox! TEH
woody801
Put your line around the back of the battery then tie a smallish stick to the end of it. That way when your bait is taken the battery still comes out but you Dont lose it. Also I find it helps to drag the bait about a bit to create a scent trail. TEH A little harsh I think, Obviously there are animal options, but many can be easily excluded, and the only reason he is setting it is because of a perceived fox problem. Once a pattern is established one night in attendance should verify the culprit/solve the problem anyway!
Dougy
T.E.H not all of us have so much money at our disposal we can afford all the luxurious gizmos, £1.99 alarm clock or a £100 trail cam. The system works blue peter or not, in fact thanks you just reminded me of my first ever teenage crush "Valerie Singleton"
