KFC
There was a report of a man eating Tiger in Ramsey last week but when Police went down to check it turned out it was just a man eating cucumber sandwiches.
bluesj
Yeah but think i'd want as back up, wouldn't want to be trying to find it in a rifle scope if it was 50 yards away and heading towards me!

Cannon
Jim Corbett would be just the man for this scenario. Anyone who has read any of his books understands his depth of knowledge about man eaters. Apparently Tigers/Lions/Leopards become man eaters out of necessity to survive if they have sustained an injury that prevents them from hunting properly. Mungler
I remember that clip of the tiger coming out of nowhere at the hunting party on elephants. Scared the poop out of me - the power, acceleration and aggression. Here we go: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M4t0aeTX954 And yes, the tiger opened up the fella on the elephant like a tin of beans
Brad93
More than likely a double rifle, rather than a smoothbore. Something listed for use on dangerous charging game, 357 Winchester or bigger. Serious put down power.
CaptainBeaky
That was the name! I remember reading "Maneaters of Kumaon" at primary school over and over. Missed a few lessons sitting out of sight in the library, lost in the jungles of India.

Mungler
Yeah, I'd gone for something bigger and longer or one of those magic 'boom sticks' used by the white hunters

Disco Stu
I remember reading about Corbett first trying to shoot a maneater, by sitting on the ground and waiting for it to come at night. figgy
Trouble is not much meat on your typical Indian, so it would need to eat a few. Now its realised how easy man is to hunt it won't stop. Figgy
NickS
Remember that there are no bad tiger hunters - at least not for long.
KFC
I remember reading about Corbett first trying to shoot a maneater, by sitting on the ground and waiting for it to come at night. Another hunter was told to do this. He was told to shine a light on it then shoot it straight between the eyes. He got eaten by two one-eyed Tigers. Penelope
I have read a lot of Corbett's stuff. Kenneth Anderson is another worth reading. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kenneth_Anderson_(writer) Jim Corbett would be just the man for this scenario.
