Reeceknight
Me and a friend today thought it would be fun to buy some tracer rounds (for no other reason but to have a go really) but I can't seen to find any. Plenty of videos of frocci ones on utube though. Any had any experience with them? Or know somewer that sells them? only want a box.

Gordon R
Tried some in the 1980s - made and marketed as "Nike". Turned out to be Nitrokemia - Hungary and none too bothered about brand names. The shells we had were green. A few of us concluded that they weren't truly a reflection on where the shot was going. They appeared to veer off to the side. Bit of fun, but I wouldn't place any real reliance on the results. Dangerous Brian
Tried some Tru Tracers back in the 90's with my Dad. When we were on a tricky (for us) stand we would use them. Problem was we were missing with standard shells and hitting with the tracers, so didn't really learn much except how expensive they were. I had a look for some about a year ago and I think they were about £25 a box!
wraivi
The Fiocchi tracer rounds are a non combustible tracer. They have a cyalume wad, as in the liquid light sticks. When fired, the internal capsule breaks and a liquid chemical reaction occurs, giving off the light. Aaron wheeler gunsmiths have them advertised, just make sure they not expired as the liquids used in cyalume tubes has a shelf life iirc. Expensive...over a pound a pop. Have fun. welshwarrior
Why would you want them you mount the gun concentrate on the pigeon see the cloud of feathers as the shot hits. Don't tell me you actually miss from time to time ;-)

Scully
Had a box of Tru-tracer many moons ago. They worked to a point, being you only get an indication of where your shot is going if you miss; if you hit then you can see where it went! They weren't much cop for lengthy targets as the tracer tended to veer off to one side at an alarming angle.

Put in tracer - hit clay - learn nothing - at the cost of about 5 normal cartridges!
