wymberley
Never had a problem with these as we don't have any here in my bit of East Devon - until now - I've never even seen one before - 'ere, ain't they big! If the numbers increase, are they going to cause any problems - I know nowt about them? Thinking of the pheasant and possibly the lambs (I share some ground with a sheep farmer who won't have come across them before either). Richie10
There are loads on Dartmoor and Exmoor. They can be a problem to both pheasants and sheep. Not much you can do about it though.
rimfire4969
We have had a few around our small shoot never had a problem with them, but I guess we are not a big scale shoot or sheep farmers and there was only the odd one or two floating about. eccles
Plenty of them around here. Not sure how they are with game but Devils on the lambs, 1 farm lost 80 + lambs 2 years ago. atb Terry
Whitebridges
We don't get 'em here only very rarely. Nearest ones I know of would be in The Tower of London.
kiffy
we get a fair few in south wales but as already said nothing you can do but ive seen them roosting right next to a farmhouse and they are bloody big birds, cant imagine the farmer was to impressed with them being there

Your post fits the description of my situation to a 'T'. Many thanks to all. I'll tip the sheep farmer (quite a small concern) the wink even though he probably won't be too concerned - first one I've known who likes to see the fox and unbelievably even when there's ten of 'em in the one field (it is a kilometre long)! kent
They have filled the gap we created by removing nearly all the crows. They are far worse but not as numerous, near wiped out in the old days of poisoned baits as they feed somewhat exclusively on flesh
39TDS
They reappeared around here about 30 years ago now. Numbers have not increased much at all really, nothing like how the Buzzard population increased in a shorter time. A regular sight but have never seen anything more than small family groups. aister
There is a lot of them up here and the numbers seem to be increasing year on year. They are bad on lambs and last year a local farmer lost two new calf's due to the injuries caused by the ravens.
JDog
Within 5 miles of my house there is a resident population of 50-60 ravens. It must drive the local gamekeepers to distraction - to say nothing about buzzards and other corvids.
Paul223
They are a real pest if ever there was one, they will quite happily prey on large lame lambs and any sheep which is unfortunate enough to be off it's feet or stuck on it's back, seen a large group strip a decent sized lamb to the bone in 3/4 's of a day and the ravens were so full they had difficulty getting airborne again I have a pic somewhere taken from a distance
pistolgrip
Ask any farmer raising lamb and they'll say the same ravens are bad news ,eyes and tounges, one dances about the ewe while the other tucks into the newborn serious problem around our way worse than charlie and hombre put together. islandgun
Pain in the backside here, as mentioned lambs and ewes on their backs, due to the extensive hill grazing plenty of dead sheep to allow them to proliferate, one aside is that one or more Ravens have been collecting golf balls from the local club, in mid play and flying off with them to drop them on rocks 1/2 a mile away, the best guess is that they think the balls are eggs, ( bouncy eggs)
