shaun4860
What model? Reason I ask is that a friend of mine has the sr180 D-cat........loves it EXCEPT that it has run flat tyres, only 1 place within a 40 mile radius that can change them due to the steel insert, costs £50 just to change the thing not including the 200 and odd pound for the tyre, they only made them for the sr180 and the t180 just thought you should know
al4x
They are nice and great on road we have one but not sure I'd do much off roading in it other than good tracks and stubble.
kent
Most permanent or select 4x4s are limited only by ground clearance and the tyres, sure thee are other factors but before that driver bottle becomes the bigger issue. I like Toyota
butchdickason
Good dual purpose 4x4, I have had mine everywhere the other 4x4 go and only got stuck once, and that was because a Rangie driven by a muppet got stuck in deep mud. Driven with common sense they are brilliant. Butch
magman
Had mine today in places i thought it would struggle never spun a wheel even on road tyres and put a huge smile on me face
FoxyChris
If it does have run flats just sell them and buy normal ones. They are rubbish in every possible way. Got rid of them on both my bmw's and the ride quality and comfort was much better and the tyres are cheaper.

Yes normally I would agree but it's more than the tyre, it has a steel insert Also you would invalidate your insurance if you didnt tell them......it would be a modification He did look into doing away with the tyres but was tols he would have to buy new wheels also because of the fitment

figgy
I have a Rav4 brill little motors mines 17 years old now and gets places bigger 4x4 can't due to its very short wheel base Don't think I'd take that new shiny one to far off road though. norfolk dumpling
Changing the tyres wouldn't invalidate insurance provided new ones are recommended by dealer/manufacturer/tyre fitters - wife's giant mini has run-flats but there is an option of repairables so assume we can change provided they are correct size. FoxyChris
Changing the tyres wouldn't count as a modification (even if it did just ring up and tell your insurance company). I'm not aware of the steel insert as the bmw wheels are just normal ones and the tyres have extra stiff walls which makes for the bad ride quality. MattSoanes
Yes, it's only steel across the middle then has a thick rubber bead on each edge, you have to be carful not to nick the alloy when your going through the bead, I big screw driver of jimmy bar wedged behind does the job.
