maxie
That explains why I have such a large **** then . I'm part black. Doesn't explain why the rest of you have small ones though. Yes some of the homo sapiens interbred with Neanderthals in Europe perhaps that explains your large head.

cpaulc
I'm a Manxman although for the sake of getting through foreign customs and immigration quickly I do tend to write 'British' on the forms, even though the island is less British than Scotland, Wales or N Ireland. Blunderbuss
There was a manx family holidaying here this summer and they had broad Lancashire accents, is that the norm I travel fairly often to the IOM. The Manx accent is a strange hybrid of Scouse and Irish. More Scouse in Douglas and the east coast and more Irish around Peel and the west. I love regional accents and how much they can change in a few miles.

keg
Respect your viewpoint however ...... Perfectly preserved graves thousands of years old found in China containing tall Ginger haired tartan clad people ..... How do we explain this Easy, Bloomin Jocks got there first! They wanted independence even then you see! Serious answer, no idea, i had not heard that I travel fairly often to the IOM. The Manx accent is a strange hybrid of Scouse and Irish. More Scouse in Douglas and the east coast and more Irish around Peel and the west. I love regional accents and how much they can change in a few miles. I agree, travel 10 miles from anywhere and it changes. The Stoke accent is also a strange hybrid, i have been complimented on identifying it. pimpkiller
I actually have a stoke acccent and usually get mistaken for either a scouser or Yorkshire man. Funnily enough I would say the most standard accentless english you will find is in Leicestershire where I now live. Im deaf and have trouble understanding accents so thats a big reason I moved here.
