Guest stevo
Evening all Well what a fun afternoon I have had ;-) It all started off on Sunday night, I happen to see a .410 hush power for sale buy pigeon watch member KDR , ( top bloke to deal with ) anyway I got in touch , after a chat and money agreed , I went to Yorkshire the following night to pick it up .Now as you can imagine I have been busting a gut to have a go , I have not used a pump action for over 15 yrs maybe longer , and that wasn’t much , but for the past couple of days I have thought about nothing else than the weekend when I can try it out . well while I was out and about today I thought I would just have a drive past one of my permissions just to see if there was any action , well as I pulled up I could see about 30-35 crows , straight away I was buzzin!! , now under normal circumstances I wouldn’t of even bothered however ……… new gun begging me too try it out.I looked at the time , I knew I only had just under 2 hrs , to go home , grab gun , get back to field ( only 4 miles away ) get set up , shoot and back home again ALL in under 2 hrs . I knew it would be tight, but sod it haha .Buy the time I was set up and ready to shoot I had an hour at best , the shooting with this little calibre was amazing fun , it took me a short time to adjust but nothing major , once I got used to the point of aim I was cooking on gas ! , downside was I ONLY HAD 17 CARTRIDGES ……Anyway I had a total of 11 birds for 17 shots1 woodie1 feral3 jackdaws6 carrions Can’t wait to have a proper go , its amazing just how quite these things are , however using an 18 gram of #5 shot with the tightest choke on the planet is like shooting birds with a bullet . Here’s the entire footage from the hour , Don’t get too excited it not very long .but enjoy Edited November 5, 2014 by stevo

Cranfield
Another great video, well done. That tight choke means you can take birds at quite surprising distances. Just one warning, Hushpowers can be addictive, I find I am using my 20ga more than the other guns.

yickdaz
concidering that was the first time you shot that gun and being a hushpower your hit rate was brilliant, I have the 20g Mossberg pump husher and most times I,m 1 for 2 with it, on a good day 2 for 3,, going off your ratio you was 2 for 3 from the off great stuff
Guest stevo
yickdaz , thanks mate . I don't mean to sound a knob but I tend not to think about it too much , I just love my shooting mate , I rekon im just a jammie shot lol . joking aside , im just blown away by the ,410 , don't get me wrong it will never best a 12 gauge , but if you have a use for it they really shouldn't be underestimated imo . and by Christ it don't half sharpen up your shooting . pbutd
Great little video Stevo, ( watching at work again)you are a natural in the hide. Has stimulated my nerve cells enough to make me determined to use my hushpower .410 this w/e on the pigeons. The .410 mossberg is surprisingly well balanced & as you say they hit hard if you get the tiny pattern in the right place & even use it roost shooting later on.They are a good little sharpener! JDog
That man could shoot corvids with a pea shooter. He has promised me some lessons so I should improve. I must remember to take plenty of peas along.

Thunderbird
Nice video, really enjoyed watching that. I really want a hush power, just not sure what gauge to get. How many do you put into that pump, is it 3 like a semi auto, or just two?
Guest stevo
Thank you for the comments boys . Much appreciated . The hushpower is a 3 shot . One in chamber 2 in mag . As for what gauge/calibre to get obviously only you can make that choice . What i can say about the .410 is the choking is hideously tight . Its about 12mm at the mmuzzle . My advice would be to try one . Stevo
