Gordon R
What are you doing about it. First step might be to post some links to back up what you say.
Tiller1986
I've just checked the Snaith & Cowick Facebook page and the first post advises that the page with allegations against Park Lodge is a bogus page and is currently under Police investigation. It has been set up by someone who has a grudge against Park Lodge and they are asking people not to like the page.

matone
Hi recently seen loads of stuff on social media site regarding Park Lodge Shooting School and in the local newspapers regarding the tipping of asbestos on the site namely the bund around the DTL and Skeet ranges i have shot there a few times and also shot a North of England Selection shoot there a few years ago which had part of the layout set in amongst these bunds. Now worried for my health................................. Are people still shooting there or are people avoiding it? Can`t believe this is a serious post, you`re walking among asbestos all over the place mate !
figgy
Grass verges at the sides of roads are full off the stuff, years of Asbestos brake shoes and pads have left loads of dust. The biggest problem with asbestos in the bunds is the shot disturbing it and making the fibers airborne, this may not be the case depending how deep or how covered it is. Paul T
I reckon I'm probably the closest shooter to the place and I did type out a long response. However, I've deleted it all bar the last line, which summarises my position and that's all anybody needs to know: "My calendar is pretty stuffed with shooting, but I do need a coaching session and where will I be going? Yep, Park Lodge " I'll leave it at that. Edited November 28, 2014 by Paul T
daveboy
This was in my local paper a few weeks ago (selby times) and as far as I can remember the tipping happened in 2011-2012. Basically they had permission to tip inert waste (rubble ect) as part of a building project. They allowed local skip firms in to tip and it was them who tipped illegal waste. I am pretty sure it said all the illegal waste had been removed at great expense. The local skip firms were fined but park lodge got the big fine for not supervising the site

Yep ,same here Paul ,i have no issues with ANY of the safety aspects at Park Lodge ,Both myself and my son have shot here regularly for about the last 4-5 years and have seen this superb facility develop from a few porta-cabins into a what is now arguably one of the best grounds in the North of England .I cannot for one minute imagine that the owners would knowingly put their clients at risk from any hazardous substance on their property. So like yourself we will continue to use and enjoy the excellent facilities at Park Lodge.
figgy
Does the asbestos dust from the brake shoes just stay there on the verges or does the rain wash it away. It's washed into the soil and stays there, it's not something that breaks down. As for how near the surface I don't know. At work on sites in the past during and after removing asbestos they place boxes containing fans and muslin cloth filters, then someone collects them and tests for asbestos on the filter clothsevery week. Talking to the fella I asked how much he finds and his reply was rarely do we ever find any on the filter cloths the odd fibre as its all sealed tents when being removed, but roadside verges are packed with the stuff, especially where you brake like at junctions. Tested samples for some reason or other. People panic on hearing the word asbestos but it's in all sorts from floor and ceiling tiles to artex upto the late eighties early nineties. Figgy they panic because regardless of how stable it is, it only takes one yes ONE fibre to become airborne and lodge in your lung and hey ho you know what happens next. rich1984
I was there yesterday, it was as busy as ever. If there was something untoward regarding asbestos surely they would be closed until it was sorted ? Itll be someone who doesnt like the place / owners causing trouble, possibly the same person who nicked all the traps not so long ago..... I love it there and it wont put me off ! bubble
I used the word skulduggery in my first response someone is making mischief, I've found it a nice place, nice people. And for the person making mischief, I hope no one you know dies from asbestosis Think twice about playing games with big words For some people, that word, is the worst word
