islandgun
Seeing the Landward Topic reminded me of my 6,5 minutes of fame when the Landward team followed me around for a while when I was mink trapping, I found my accent changed several times but was predominately dull monotone and I still cannot comprehend why someone took so much time enhancing my wrinkles for TV, my family watched it in stunned silence it was then promptly deleted and was never spoken of again, Has anyone had their 15 minutes of fame ? fortune
Many years ago when I was doing the Duke of Edinburgh awards a group of us were due to start the trek and camp section. The duke was flown down in a Westland Wessex helicopter to see our party off on our route hike. Somewhere I have pictures of me showing him our route on my map, which I still have. My memory of this meeting was the shine on his shoes and the smell of the aftershave / deodorant that he wore. He was quite chatty and knowledgeable about what we were doing but there was definitely an air of superiority about him.
poontang
My 15 minutes came just after I was born. I weighed in at 7lb 12oz and my twin brother weighed 9lb 8oz. We were the heaviest twins ever recorded in the UK at the time. Can't say I remember it too much though!!
