Taxidermy work of art

When my brother got married I was a bit stuck onwhat to get them as a pressie as they are a couple who have everything.

I ended up getting an old victorian stoat killing a baby rabbit. It was the worst looking example of taxidermy I had ever seen and i got it for nothing off a mate who found it in a shed.

I made a big thing of it when I gave my speech, saying how I had had it for years in my study and that I was giving it to them as a piece of art which cost me a lot of money even thought it was unrestored etc etc. I could see that they hated it with a passion but accepted it as a gift.

everytime I go around they get it out on display I know this as other who are in on it tell me that they dont see it when they go round and I always comment how lovely it looks in the house.

One day i will tell them the truth but I might give it a decade or so.

I find the whole idea of stuffing dead animals repulsive I have nothing against killing them to eat or pest control but to use a dead body as decoration to me is sick.

Surely it is better to stuff them dead than alive , that fox for instance could give a nasty bit if you were stuffing it alive :whistling:
