wymberley
One of my customers had a transit container with some electronics worth £30,000+ turn up on site with a hole from a forklift tine through it courtesy of the same firm. Had to laugh. Back in the day, much of the RAF Jaguar fleet was sat on the ground. The problem being that the main engine fuel supply tanks were explosion suppressed and were delaminating - the danger being that they'd collapse inward and block the pump inlets. Any British serviceman of any technical discipline will be familiar with the word, 'robbing'. Well, we were into grand theft big time. The manufacturers were working flat out and we finally got a bulk delivery. The tanks were in a 'primary standard package' which was a wooden framed box with thin plywood sides. The dispatcher had attached the labels with staples - great big long staples...............
JohnfromUK
Unfortunately, tracking is not helpful. I had a (not firearm/shooting related) parcel, fully tracked go missing in January. The contents were low value spare parts, needed fast and of no use to anyone else. Fully tracked parcel simply went missing. Seller replaced the parts fortunately, but me being rather annoyed over the delay etc. asked a lot of questions. Carrier said they had delivered and 'had a signature'. I asked whose signature - and they said it was illegible, but since they had a signature - they had 'done their bit' and since the contract was with the seller (who had paid their fee) - not me, the buyer - mind my own business and contact the seller if I have a problem with that. I didn't wish to upset the seller as they had already despatched replacements and couldn't have been more helpful over the issue.
welshwarrior
TNT won't use them after the snapped a stock on a gun by all accounts it was the senders fault as it was badly packed, I quieried what the tyre marks across the box had come from, some one had driven over it, not TNTs fault though!! Quite often guns also took 2-3 days to arrive on next day deliveries.
viking
rite, today i got the tracking number, says it was picked up 26th feb and delivered on the 27th, but in the tracking log it mentions helsinki,so i called TNT they said the tracking info was wrong, she knew where the parcel should be going to, but had no idea where it was or why it had not been delivered, and that she would look into it and call me back tomorrow, so i rang my FLO and informed him or who ever it was that answered the phone, he said he would have to speak to his manager tomorrow to see what the procedure is for a "maybe" missing gun. what a naffing carry on

bruno22rf
Why did you have to send your certificate to the seller?-it was being delivered to a RFD direct-or am I missing something here. Next time you ring the courier ask to speak to someone as high up as possible-when you get someone ask them to spell their name as you need to pass it on to the police firearms investigating officer who will be interviewing them asap-normally gets things moving. ChrisAsh
RFD's have a set routine to confirm who they are at each end and only your RFD at your end should ask for the certificate to move the gun from his record book to your certificate
