Cranfield
Mackerel are being caught from the Admiralty Pier in Dover and from the beaches in the Hythe area, best around the high tide. A friend had 24 from Sandgate beach today.
wymberley
Just been told that there is several massive pods of dolphin lurking between Berry Head and Portland Bill - some have been spotted well inshore - which might account for any shortage. Andy135
Finally did this today, having spoken to a few locals who all said the fishing had been poor all summer so far, they seemed to think if you got out far enough you might get lucky. With the above advice in mind we did just that, and had 4 on the second pull, followed by another 4 a few minutes later, including one decent one - job done Good stuff. We're off to Beer the second week of August and will be out in a boat again. Will go out a bit further this time. How long did you motor before dropping the lines? Dunkield
Literally in line with the headland on the right, in fact we were over towards the right hand side. I was all set to carry on going out further and catching more, but got the "don't be greedy" from Mrs D so came back. With chugging out back and fiddling about we were bang on the hour. I definitely want to go back sans Mrs with some mates for a longer session, maybe even get two boats out for a bit of a match Great place for post fishing beers as well
the crowman
Off to Bude Cornwalll.....Any catching there.

aister
We started to get mackerel around our salmon cages about a fortnight ago but the small boats are struggling to land any quantity.
Andy135
Rented a boat from Beer beach on the weekend. Out for two hours and managed 11 good sized mackerel and a Bernard the Gurnard. Barbecued the mackerel and pan fried Bernard - he tasted lovely!
wymberley
For anyone down this way, they're hitting Seaton big time - big catches from the beach. Also mullet but this required ground baiting. Two groups of anglers fishing either side of my mate who was after his winter supply of mackerel for bait had a red letter day yesterday evening. 39TDS
Was at Moelfre yesterday morning for high tide. Saw one chap catch a couple of joeys and had a single undersize pollack myself.
malkiserow
Mackerel are back in on the South Devon beaches in good numbers
rimfire4969
Friend took his little boat out from Falmouth and bagged about 25 just off the light house over by St Mawes.
