Turn up, have a bacon sarney and a bit of a chinwag.

Find your squad and off for a 100 bird sporting.

Back to the clubhouse for the raffle and the scores.

Northern shooters win (again) and Southerners complain and make excuses why they lost (again)

If you can make it I highly recommend it. Went to my first one last year and had a great day. Lots of friendly people and a good laugh and all in a good cause.

+1

I'd never met anyone from on here, I was on a squad with D-M, fenboy, oxfordfowler, motty, and had a really good time. A great bunch of people

There was something definitely wrong with the raffle last year Phil, I think it was broken!! Am reasonably confident it will be back to normal this year and I'll win everything.

So far I've got a Ceasar Guerini gunslip and a bottle for the raffle and I'm sure John Beswick at Station Garage (Rainhill Cartridges) will put up a slab of suitable pigeon loads.

Plenty of practice between now and 21st May but unless Catamong stuffs the Southern team full of ringers it's a certainty for yet another Northern victory.

As usual thank you to the usual suspects, PhilR, Shaun4860, Catamong and Mr Potter for their help with choosing a date to miss the major clay competitions, bank holidays etc :good:

We are just finalising the details, but have a ground confirmed for this year's event. It's a little off the well trodden path of the last few years, but it will be well worth it, as it's an excellent ground.

So if you have it confirmed can we have it confirmed ?

Arguably one of the best shooting ground in the country, they may even leave the same targets on from the English Open which is being held there two weeks prior to the PW bash!!!

Hope you've tied them down to exactly what you want though Teal, I thought their treatment of us at the inaugural PW shoot was nowhere near as good as the subsequent grounds. Not enough referees for the numbers advised and the distinct impression they couldn't wait to see the back of us during the raffle (which, due to the huge number of donated prizes, went on for a very long time!)

Targets were brilliant that day but I think it will be forever remembered for the RAIN.

See you all there

No arguing about it, deffo THE best ground for Sporting Clays in the Country, I too can't wait for the English Open as I've never shot a bad shoot there.

I would concur with all of Capt P's comments, will have a quiet word in advance with the Jones family, hoping for some preferential treatment...?

As for the location, it's well North of Birmingham, therefore can't be considered a "Southern" venue, let's hope my loyal band of Southern ringers shooters don't mind the extra mileage and the weak beer..?

The beer is strong north of Watford, it has to hold a good head

Looking forward to this one. Heard good reports about the ground from a lot of folk.

Now do is stay over the night before or drive down in the morning ???

Edited by shoot and be safe

Thought it was a southern venue this year ?

All the venues are in the Midlands, it tends to be more an East or West option - if we chose true North or South ground, it'd would be a logistical no no for a lot of people on opposite end of the country.

FYI - Premier Inn, Telford North is the first choice venue for the night before (same place we stayed before - I wonder if 'Ice Cream' Darcy still works there?)
