wymberley
I'm having trouble sourcing these cartridges of any make and my last hope is a response from George at PCs. Could anyone possibly tell me if I've missed some in my search? Many thanks in advance.

wymberley
I have some Hull Imperial 28g in 65mm for the sbs. Also some High Pheasant 30g which are 67mm which I got to try in the Maxus. In the latter gun I got an occasional jam using my previous 67.5mm. As I was going to pattern these anyway once the weather suits, I thought I'd whack a few through to check the cycling at that time. If they play up, I can always use them in the sbs. As I can't think of any reason other than the length for the jams, I'm looking to see if the 70s are better suited - well, that was the plan. Whitebridges
Lyalvale Express do a SuperGame 32g plastic wad No7 in a 70mm case. I'm shooting my way through 500 at the moment. Really effective on game and pigeons. I've put some through a Beretta A400 Lite and all ejected with no problems. This particular gun does jam occasionally with 65 and 67mm cases. I will definitely buy some more when these are gone. Edited January 29, 2016 by Whitebridges
wymberley
Why so stressed about it, just buy something else What really stresses me is several pigeon on finals and a jammed gun.
motty
Is it that important for the loads to be 30 or 32 gram. Will an ounce not do?
wymberley
Is it that important for the loads to be 30 or 32 gram. Will an ounce not do? Good point. 30 or 32 is good whichever turned out to be available. As I want to try the 70 for the reason given, unless George comes up trumps it looks as though that might be a no go. When you look at an ounce, there are plenty of 70s available but you walk into a plastic wad more often than not and I'm obliged to use fibre. However, I've just found Hull Sovereign Fibre. Also it appears that Gamebore have unilaterally decided that English 7s will be the new 7&1/2s in their clay range and they have a few to choose from. I would prefer the 30/32 just to keep the choke open a tad, but if it's not to be then so be it.
figgy
Why not just use 28g 7.5 clay loads plenty of folk do myself included if the range is sensible. Cheaper too. Pick Italian and they're a uk 7shot Edited January 29, 2016 by figgy
wymberley
Apart from myself, is there anyone else who shoots a self loader for pigeon and who either prefers, or is obliged, to use fibre would fancy using these in, say, 1&1/8oz (32g)? hawkfanz
yes me beretta a300 outlander, refuse to buy plastic, fibre much kinder on the countryside and the cows.same in my 20g and 28g.
motty
Wymberley. I recommend you try Fiocchi Fblack fibre. I'm sure they would do the job you require, and be much cheaper than most of the cartridges mentions here. These are ounce loads.
dipper
You will not find much differance between 1oz and 1 1/8oz it's all in the mind .Dipper.
wymberley
it's all in the mind .Dipper. Yep. As you'd expect, at the moment my pattern fails just before the pellet energy. My pattern is such that the extra pellets obtained will correct that. So,yep, it is all in the mind and is often called confidence and it's priceless.
