matty*
Following on from my "20 bore 30 or 32" barrels thread, im now undecided what gun to look at. I like the look of the cesar guerini tempio or the magnus jaspe. I only have a budget of £1500 and both the above guns are hard to come by in that budget so what else is there to look at? I just think you seem to get a lot of gun for your money with the guerini's. And before anyone says "the one that fits" im just after some ideas of what to look at and then to see what fits. Thanks Matty
fenboy
You should be able to pick up a Browning 725 hunter for around that price , the low profile action may suit you if you have been shooting a Beretta.
sitsinhedges
Franchi Alcione and 4000 shells
Outdoorsman
I know when i have the money ill be buying a caeser guerini if you like them and youve handled one, anything else might just not be the same, save up and get the one you want. MattSoanes
I'm with him ^^^, save up and buy what you really want, the build quality of a Guerini is head and shoulders above the Browning 725 Hunter.
sitsinhedges
Problem with a budget of £1500 is it only buys the bottom end of the more expensive guns with scaffold plank stocks. My Franchi at half the price actually had a reasonably decent bit of wood on that the lower end "better" guns come no where near. I think for a proper nice gun you've got to be looking at £2.5-3k
winnie&bezza
I've got a macnab highlander in 20 that I really like as its got a narrow action and is a slender gun overall but with your budget you could get something a bit better even though it had lovely wood and had quite a few admirers of it. jmoz82
Buy a beretta or browning from the 80's they are far better than the new offerings today !!!!!
dougall
boring i know but beretta SP in 20 gauge is fab
figgy
Speak to Webber as he is looking at bringing some cheaper Italuan guns into the country. Might be a nice 20 bore in your price range. If look for long enough you will get a Ceasar 20 bore second hand.

matty*
Thanks for all the replys, Second hand guerini's seem hard to come by but i guess i either wait and save a bit more to the budget while i wait or start looking at different things. Matty Having been in your position buy in haste repent at lesuire was never more apt. I would wait save a more and buy the gun you really want, not a compromise or every time you see the one you wanted you wish you had waited. Or at least I did and do. You could always keep an eye out for a bargain in the meantime and trade up at a later date. I have often brought a gun just because it was cheap for what it was and sold it on at a good profit as long as you stuck to the major brands it would be unlikely you would lose money. As an example someone yesterday was selling a mint 28 gauge silver pigeon on facebook cant remember price it was either £900 or £950 but also included in the sale was 2500 cartridges ! if I had not brought a gun last week I would have took his arm off ! BrowningDJC
Could find a nice second hand grade 5 miroku mk60 for a few hundred more. Or your budget could buy you a 725 hunter which are great guns. Can't say I'm a guerini fan.
