Help with scope

you could try a small shim, in the past I have used a piece of plastic cut from an old set of venetian blinds as it already had a slight curve. If you try it be aware that the halves of the mount wont come together as close and don't overtighten. Should have said under the scope on the bottom half of the mount.

Seconded - A strip of metal from a beer or soft drinks can will do.

How about a wrap of insolation tape as thick as needed

Insulation tape squishes around and migrates al over the place - masking tape is much better. :yes:
