walshie
Walking back from town earlier I saw a crow hopping along the pavement like it was dazed or drunk or something. It let me walk right by it, two feet away without flying off. Further up the road, one was hopping about in the middle of the lane and didn't attempt to fly off when i walked past. My son ran one over today that just stood in the road in front of his car. And I just walked along the field with my 410 looking for squirrels and there was a crow taking 2 hops then falling over on its beak. Got up, 2 hops, same thing. The 410 cured it though. As crows normally fly off as soon as you look at them, what could make 4 crows act like this in a short space of time?

old'un
Are there any farm buildings near, could it possibly be warfarin poisoning?
JDog
They may have been feeding on something that made them dopey. I have seen similar behaviour in corvids feeding on the mash left over from the brewing process.

B25Modelman
I do hope you shot it in flight...during the hop. I understand one foot on the ground is still considered acceptable.

Fisheruk
Is it just crows or have you seen other birds acting this way? I saw a young bird walking down the centre of the road this morning as I was setting out for the woods at 5.00am. She had definitely been drinking something dodgy her legs were going in all directions
