JDog
For a week or so now I have seen pigeons heading over the village in the late afternoon and evening going out to feed. I tracked them down to a pea field which has not been shot and yesterday after work I headed out there. I was set up by 4 and home by 6 having picked 21. Usually I try to get to a game dealer the day after shooting but it was not possible today and they had to go in the fridge in my office. Thankfully Lady JDog rarely ventures into my office and so the chances of her seeing these are slim. I must be getting better with the new semi auto as I shot these 21 pigeons with only 15 cartridges, at least that is the number of empty shells I could find in the long grass so it must be true. aga man
A worthwhile session, well done. Those birds would make a nice trade at the local pub!
ditchman
see the bottom shelf is well stacked with Chateau de colombes............. i was going to ask you how the auto is fairing................i am testing a new idea on the spent cases ........i tie a bit of cotton to all my cartridges before i go out ...then when i load up i tie the ends off to the trigger guard ....so when they are ejected the cotton stops them disapearing...then you just pull the cotton and they all come together.............i think i will apply for a design patent... Worzel-gummidge
that is the problem with a semi, they spit the empties all over the place, its amazing how far out some of them go. I was having this problem so I purchased a pot magnet and fitted a metal rod to it, so now I can pick all the empty shells up with ease. Cos The A400 Lite with kick off. It all feels very strange but I am determined to get the hang of it. There is no question the recoil is less than with my over and under. There is no question the recoil is less than with my over and under. Very nice gun, I held it at the show but haven't shot one. It's definitely light, and guessing with the recoil system should be quite soft. My buddy has the Unico and I have the Xtreme, pretty sure mine is the heaviest of the bunch but I really like it. Let us know how you get on with it over time.
Royboy
I didn't realise that's how the ratio worked ! When I finely get chance to go out I'll aim the spent cartridges into a ditch !
