LeeN
Probably been mentioned before but what would be the best all round semi auto that's reliable and won't break the bank, Been looking at the Winchester sx3 but that's cause I've been swaying towards a new wildfowling semi but would this be suitable for lighter loads for pigeons/rabbit etc Won't be shooting game with this tho only ducks geese and pigeon most likely. Biggthepool05
You will never regret buying 2nd hand beretta 391 👍
ChrisPCarter
Love my Browning Maxus Premium with the speed load and magazine cut-off etc Never had a jam but I've always used 28g plus cartridges in it, mainly for pigeons and a few clays. I got it used for £800 and it looks like a lot of gun for the money.

shalfordninja33
You will never regret buying 2nd hand beretta 391 👍 This. I went to my local shop for some cartridges a month or so ago and came out with a used al391. Complete with the case, chokes and all the parts from the factory for a shade over £500.00. It's easily changed to left hand cast the shims and turning the safety around is a 10 second job. I couldn't have been happier.
Bansk65
Franchi Affinity, £595, 7 year warranty, made by Benelli. Good gun, light and reliable. Had mine about 8 months now and cannot fault it.
WinchesterDave
You're looking at a superb all round semi with the SX3 pal! You genuinely will not be disappointed they're top notch in every aspect; reliability, pointability, easy to clean and take and down looks great too You'll get a good priced second hand one as well. Go with whatever fits you though as in all fairness there probably isn't an auto out there now that isn't classed as good. Realistically, the only reason I'd get rid of mine is to try other guns out! But I have a feeling I would end back up with one at some point if I ever did do that.... Good luck, Edited August 18, 2016 by WinchesterDave
BerettaSV10
I got the SX3 with the 3 1/2" chamber so it covered every thing, it never missed a beat even using it on clays, never did get around to use it on anything else. Only sold because I did not want to continue using a semi and chopped it in for an o/u.

Stimo22
I brought a Franchi Affinity for Duck shooting as my normal game gun would not take steel cartridges. As previous reply got 7 year warranty but it seems very well made and have shot about 300 shells troughs it at clays and has not had one non eject or problem
ShootingEgg
I have a SX3 and guys i shoot with have berettas from 391 to 1301, all are great guns.. Id say go in shop, handle a few, and mount them, see which one feels right for you... I am bias to my Sx3 but then its an awesome gun and I can hit clays and birds with it... Brodie
Interesting topic as I'm thinking of getting an SX3 in not too distant future. Looking at the walnut stock field model as I like the traditional look - are shims to change stock cast & drop included with the wood stocked ones as I'm a left hooker. Thanks
db135
I got the black field version new in February it's the wood stock was told buy the shop the wood version dosent Come with shims as putting shims in can split the stock a checked with browning/winchester my self see if it was the case or shop just fobbing me off but no he was right don't get shims with wood stock didn't bother me as gun fits spot on so think if you want to mess about with shims you will have to go for synthetic stock but great guns my friend bought the same gun the same time I got mine we picked them up together he loves his he did 1500 cartridges in before he cleaned it still worked fine
Big Al
Wildfowling Not break the bank Reliable Capable with lighter load for rabbits pigeon etc. You just discribed the BAIKAL M P 153 I'm with Tony on this one. Rock solid reliable. Very versatile. Won't break the bank. It's hard to go past the Baikal MP153. https://youtu.be/qt1QV3DFUrQ

TONY R
Do you know who sells spares, chokes etc for them? In the states george trulock and colonial arms are the two most popular for the Baikals. Jebbs Ic and Seminole do chokes or did, not sure but kicks might do true chokes too. I use colonial arms tube in mine.
littlerob
Do you know who sells spares, chokes etc for them? madel chokes sells standard chokes and they also do there new wildfowling chokes to. Trucoke fits, patter master have them available. Terror chokes as I have one but hardly use it to tight for me , wad wizzard and also kicks do chokes for the mp153 there are harder to find UK but plenty state side and the original cakes are available from gun and md saddlery and york guns
Big Al
I bought a Kicks hi flier extended wildfowling choke from gaep reloading for mine. It was a Trulock choke. As for spares, you will be extremely unlucky to have a Baikal need any but they have been imported into UK for many decades and you should have no trouble getting any if you need them.
