That depends on how old you are, lol?

I had Bamford style conversions done by Max Cottis, he of 68lb Cassein fame. I helped roll the baits.

Penelope "delkim conversation" you must be nearly as old as me. I tried to include text with this pic but it all went wrong? The photo was taken by a friend while fishing the Teme for barbel not sure if he caught but he definitely had a result!!!

Two fish Cottis after the Savay pig (but ain't they bigguns!). MR Proteins (I worked bagging up casein, calcium caseinate, etc, etc as a Saturday job for Micky Richardson) out of Max's garage, way before Mainline and Gash.

As for fishing, Hainault mostly as it was close to home, Walthamstow ressies, Micky's lake in Newport, a few times at Yateley and Gerry Savage's Cotton Farm, where the Bluewater retail park now stands.

One fish cottis Penelope! Now I'm getting closer to knowing your age? Bait rolling, probably home made, maybe mainline/nash can't remember it they were going then. Where were you fishing pig lane, Sanford-le-hope, layer? Or did you cross the river to Darenth?

that does not look like a genuine photo to me??

Why do you say that Andrew ?

Its not unusual to have Kingfishers resting on your rod like that, but the difficult part is actually catching the moment, they normally fly off in a flash of electric blue.

Spend enough time on the river bank and you will see plenty of sites like this

if it wasn`t for sportsman spending money and looking out for the countryside would we have all this wildlife ?

Who knows. I suspect before the Chinese invented gunpowder we did. :whistling:

Cracking shot. :good:

Difficult enough to get one to land on the rod let alone get a picture of it before it flies off...they are extremely nervous birds.
