Dougy
Icotec are about £150. Programmable too. From bestfoxcall.com Edited December 18, 2016 by Dougy
mick miller
I looked at the g350 Dougy, do you have personal experience with it? What put me off was the lack of fox calls preloaded. Thanks for the extra info Sparkie. Not really after the LL one, ideally something a little more powerful, clearer and featured. Dougy
You can load your own on that one, to be honest I've had fox's come in to the weirdest of calls. I have the 300 which you can't load calls onto but as above, they do work. I could forward you a load of calls once I find the disk. I bought a western rivers call from the states a few years back, which I now use, but still use the 300 now and again, or both if I fancy a change. Lloyd90
Do you ever use 300 odd different calls?
wymberley
If you get a basic caller but want to use it remotely, then if it has an external power input and you also pigeon shoot, using a flapper timer - length of flap and interval both adjustable - sorted. Dougy
Do you ever use 300 odd different calls? I only use about 12. rabbit distress rabbit scream mouse rodent cotton tail pheasant pheasant chicks orphan lamb woodpecker squirrel distress fox mating call cub distress probably a few more but certainly not anywhere near 100 lol Oh ! I do have a nice Police siren on there somewhere
mick miller
Do you prefer the western rivers one then?
Dougy
Do you prefer the western rivers one then? I could not put calls on the Icotec that i had, and at the time the western rivers one was a cheaper option that the FoxPro and the range is better too. And I don't conform like the majority
dipper
Why do people need a electric caller?.Most keepers I know suck on back of the hand.it works for me .anyone use it?.
steve_b_wales
Why do people need a electric caller?.Most keepers I know suck on back of the hand.it works for me .anyone use it?. I use my hand, hand calls (homemade and bought) and also a Foxpro remote caller. This works best when I want the Fox to come to my chosen area, and not directly at me. As long as I'm 'hidden' and not downwind of it, it will not know I'm there. Instead, it will head towards the caller and my chosen sound. This is usually backed up with bait. Sometimes, I also use a Rockin' rabbit decoy, so the Fox has sight, sound and smell.
Good shot?
I use an electronic caller mainly now but if not to hand I call by hand most successfully.(That's all I had as a lad, a long time ago.)
Dougy
I use every trick in my book to thin out Fox's. I still don't manage to shoot every one. So that means there still wiser than one am. ;-)
mick miller
Ditto, it's just another tool to add to the hand suck, mouth call, polystyrene on glass etc. Why do people need rifles anyway? My great, great, great, great, great, great, great grandfather used to just shoot them with an arrow... and why should what 'most gamekeepers' do be a benchmark for anything, many are firmly stuck in the dark ages. jimmyb79
Another vote for the FLX500 from Scott Country from me. I've had the GC350 and also a very expensive FoxPro Fusion, and the FLX500 outshines the pair of them. I genuinely have never had so many foxes come into an electronic call before. For the money you can't go wrong.
mick miller
I've read a few reviews on the FLX where it packs up after a few months though. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/reviews/B00WGLDAM6/ref=cm_cr_dp_mb_see_rcnt?ie=UTF8&s=sd whereas the g350 gets... https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/cr/B00GO7IRCG/ref=cm_cr_getr_mb_paging_btm_4?pageNumber=4 Edited December 20, 2016 by mick miller

Dougy
I have a separate battery pack that will last a couple of outings.
mick miller
I guess, from that, it eats batteries then? What voltage is the battery pack? I may make my own.
