lloydi73
Hi all, need help, I have a Buffalo River Gold 10 Gun cabinet with digi lick entry. today, I typed in code and the lock would not disengage. The screen said open but the locks wouldn’t release. this happened once before and I had to unscrew face plate and use manual release. Today it happened again, but this time after using key over ride it will not function off digi pad. ive tried changing batteries but still the problem persists. anybody have this problem or can suggest a solution? Obviously I’ll contact buffalo River in the New Year, but in the meantime any suggestions?!? lloydi
JDog
Serves you right for having so many Guns. However as you haven't got anything to shoot you might as well leave the guns in there.

figgy
Probably a faulty motor or sticking mechanism. Will it open and close the bolts with the door open. you can probably buy a new mechanism.

Cheers Figgy, I’ll try it tomorrow and see
figgy
You can strip the inside of the door and check the mechanism. Some screws and the covered panel slides up and away. I have the same safe but with a key, didn’t fancy any future problems with electronics. I couldn’t find one of my keys so looked to change the lock. Worked out cheaper to buy a breakdown cabinet with two locks and swap a lock than get a new key cut or order the lock alone. Luckily found my key after a few days. Hopefully yours will be an easy fix as all the parts are Chinese and spares come from China.
Dougy
What this digital lick lock thingy.
team tractor
Will it work if you put pressure on the door ? This works with a lot of locks. It takes the pressure off the bolt. 30 minutes ago, Dougy said: What this digital lick lock thingy. We can tell your ill
Mutiny
Do share how you get on - I've got the same problem......
figgy
The digital lock don’t throw the bolts it only actuates a motor to move a pin or small bolt that locks the handle from opening the bolts. I think the problem is s faulty motor or locking pin sticking.
Mutiny
I took the back off the door on mine and the pin isn't moving - it moves freely by hand so looks like the motor isn't working
daveboy
Put a meter onto the wires leading to the motor/solenoid When you unlock it 6v should be sent to the motor/solenoid (4x1.5v).
Mutiny
I'll dig the meter out the van in the morning and test, cheers
Mungler
I had one of these. They are fussy and require decent batteries - try a new set of Duracell.
Mutiny
Cheers Mungler, it had a Duracell in but I changed it anyway and it's just the same. Tested the plug off the back of the small circuit board which runs to the pin release and it gets 6v when you press # to finish entering the unlock number

I would be tempted to spray some wd40 into the pin and leave it a day.
Mungler
The only other problem I had with the internal carpeting / liner which would snag and wedge on the locking bolts - are the bolts all clear and move freely?
Dougy
Can you get inside and lock it to see where the problem is. Take your phone with you just in case.
