bigman
That belt grinder really looks the business mate I'm looking foward to seeing your first blade come from it , with the plunge you want to try and graduate it into the ricassio and not have to much of a step as it can cause a weakness in the blade going from thick steel to thin to quickly ,

marsh man
After all the technical talk about angled nipples and grinding , I was wondering if you could buy one of these machines from Ann Summers now Valentines day is just around the corner With this project turning into a full time commitment , are you getting time to pop into Brundall for your tail end of Haddock ? la bala
Nice work ditchman. I have seen so many people trying to fold by putting a piece of metal in a vice and knock seven bells out of it. Isnt it so much easier to cut fold and weld if you havnt access to a folder. Keep up the good work.

Paddy Galore!
I was just thinking ditchman, on my Makita belt sander there's a graphite and cloth backing pad that sits over the base plate and under the belt, I suppose it's there's to reduce friction between the plate and belt, would your machine need one of these? not only but also, I got a nice chunky bit of oak in the shed if you want to make a base plate to fix all that to.
