Scully
Last year someone posted a delightful short film regarding the making of tweed gamekeepers suits. Ive done a search (admittedly not tried every option) but no joy. Told my OH about it but now we have internet i wanted to show her the film. Can anyone remember the title? panoma1
Excellent video! Pointing out another heritage industry that could go **** up if the antis manage to persuade the government to ban shooting! Costing many, many hundreds if not thousands of rural jobs! JohnfromUK
There is an interesting book called Scottish Estate Tweeds showing all the different estate tweed patterns. EDIT - I see the book is featured in the film - should have watched before posting! Edited February 22, 2018 by JohnfromUK
samboy
I gave my Tweed jacket to a friend of mine on Sunday but after watching that i might go and buy another one. I cant understand how the prices differ so much though. £100 to £500 plus.

oldypigeonpopper
hello, i must of had a bargain when i bought my Hoggs tweed jacket, £1, it did need a small tear in sleeve sorting by a seamstress for £8 so a jacket for sunday best for less than a tenner,
Scully
Just watched it again with my OH; both thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks again.
Walker570
I treated myself to a full set of tweeds, Jacket(Norfolk), vest, breeks and trousers, bespoke, when Hebden Tweed still had the business. I think that was thirty odd years ago but they get worn every season, the guns call it my Rupert Bear suit because the tweed pattern is quite loud ginger colour. That suit has been cleaned numerous times and is still as good as new. It is still a brilliant material and now with being able to add breatable lightweight waterporoof linings it still works and looks good. I watched it a second time as my wife wanted to see it and saw things the second time I missed the first time through. Would have like to have seen the stage from raw wool to thread included. Grange1905
Love tweed. Have a 3 piece suit, 2 piece one and another 5 jackets plus 3 waistcoats. And plus 4's together with a shooting jacket. Timeless clothing, works everywhere from the field to a fine dining restaurant (not the plus 4's though!). Penelope
I bought a lovely 3 piece tweed shooting suit (half Norfolk, waistcoat & plus 4's) off Ebay a couple of years ago, a heavyweight brown herringbone, with subtle ginger and claret lines and a forest green in the weave by Brocklehurst's of Bakewell. The guy I bought it off had it made to measure and it fits me well. I also got married in a 3 piece tweed suite last summer. Shooting Suite. Wedding suite - This is an off the peg one to see what it looked like, but mine was made to measure in the same tweed. Edited February 23, 2018 by Penelope Add photos.
