billytheghillie
Apart from reloading which I don't do, what is the best way to dispose of the empty shells? Meaning, do I put them in recycle bin, or general waste bin which goes to landfill.
haynes
I took a load to the tip once. Only a few hundred. The lady told me to put them in metal recycling. Odd I thought. But hey I like to do my bit. And did as I was told

Stimo22
We always have a problem with getting rid of them from our small clay shoot, once took them to the tip and put them in the general waste. there was a chap there and he immediately split the sack to see what was in there and they went everywhere, he then started to have a go at me saying they where a danger and we should no dump them. We have started to get them recycled by a waste company, we get a sack that contains about 4000 and it costs £12 to recycle. or we could get a big bag that takes 21000 and that cost about £30 but is to big for us. we should use about 3 bags a year so that should be managable. Watched that from start to finish and really believe it’s a major step forward. Do hope that WLSC pay to get rid of that mountain, but I feel that they won’t! Shame really as it’s like many things in life, more you ignore it the more it’s going to cost.

PPP
Collect ours up and drop at the local recycler who also collects from clay grounds, they don’t charge
Vince Green
The council will love you for putting them in the domestic recycling. Every time they find 'ammunition' it causes the equivalent of a bomb scare and they have to stop the sorting conveyer while some specially trained supervisor comes down and assesses them. They don't recycle them anyway.

Our small clay shoot is doing the same. We save them up in a dumpy bag and take them to a farmer near Crediton who then transports them up to Agri-Cycle for recycling. We get through about 900 each shoot, which as you can imagine soon mounts up. Its fantastic that there is a way to dispose of them ethically and not just to landfill. norfolk dumpling
Ive assumed general waste bin. I too thought on a conveyor belt at a recycling centre there would be panic even with empty cartridges.
