Why did you not take it back for a refund?

Pigeon Shredder.
Get yourself into Aldi for a bottle of Kooliburra Australia Shiraz, £3.99, let it warm and breathe, no kiss of life, and then tell me l'm wrong. It's good wine at any price.

Try Budgen's at Acle , they seem to have a nice selection of wines , I dont drink wine so I cant recommend any. I stick to Orange Lucozade , nice flavour , build your energy levels up , no hang over and only a pound a bottle , go on try some

In our quest to help you, your nearest Aldi is in Plumstead road Norwich, less than 10 miles from Lingwoods finest wet terrier shopping mall. Walker570
It was the 'portable' bit that made me grin....I put it down to a thick finger, we all do it. Potable I think you meant. I do appreciate your wine reports though, keep 'em coming. I tend to buy from my local village shop/post office, some very drinkable Aussie stuff for a fiver a bottle if you buy two and I only have to drive 4 miles return. He also does some good Prosecco as well at £7 a bottle ....a touch of sloe gin in the bottom of the glass first. Like to keep my local shop in business. Are you sure you didn't have anything in it to liven it up a bit , I must be hooked on it , I can drink a good half a bottle on a shoot day and still drive about with no ill effects
amateur
I think you must have been unlucky with that particular bottle, Simon. Poor storage in the shop? Bad batch? I've drunk that brand in the past - easy drinking and unmemorable, perhaps, but not actually bad. I've found most cheap Chilean wines to be OK, well certainly compared to cheap European or Australian wines, As I say, easy drinking and unmemorable. I don't normally mind Rump so long as its cooked properly but I think for the minimal price difference it would be daft not to have the better steak. We tried a wine at the show the other weekend that was supposed to retail at £15 plus vat but I can't honestly say it was any nicer than the one from aldi. Have a look at their lron Horse Barossa if your feeling flush. If you really are a Farmboy l think you’ll get my drift, and it’s an excellent wine at the same time. The missus came home with a bottle from Morrisons the other day, I forget the name but it was from the 'chosen by you' range. Who ever choose it clearly had no taste buds as it was vile. At £6.50 it was at the top of end of what I like paying for a supermarket wine. Think I'll stick with aldi for wine from now on.
