it was £5.50 on special offer from the local spa..........

poured it ...nice coulour.................gave it a sniff..............my god it was awful...it was fausty...germ riddern...bacteria infected....and to all intents and purposes smelt like a "wet terrier with a dirty bottom"

it drank badley...was insiped...and really it didnt taste like wine........

this one needs to be steered clear of.............(even at £5.50p)

So after you smelt it and it was "awful" you drank it?

Why did you not take it back for a refund?

Get yourself into Aldi for a bottle of Kooliburra Australia Shiraz, £3.99, let it warm and breathe, no kiss of life, and then tell me l'm wrong.

It's good wine at any price.

Try Budgen's at Acle , they seem to have a nice selection of wines , I dont drink wine so I cant recommend any. I stick to Orange Lucozade , nice flavour , build your energy levels up , no hang over and only a pound a bottle , go on try some:good:

It was the 'portable' bit that made me grin....I put it down to a thick finger, we all do it.  Potable I think you meant.  I do appreciate your wine reports though, keep 'em coming.

I tend to buy from my local village shop/post office, some very drinkable Aussie stuff for a fiver a bottle if you buy two and I only have to drive 4 miles return.  He also does some good Prosecco as well at £7 a bottle ....a touch of sloe gin in the bottom of the glass first.  Like to keep my local shop in business.

Many years ago I drove to a mates for a poker night and spent the evening drinking lucozade sport.  Had a splitting headache by midnight, would have felt better knocking back booze!

Are you sure you didn't have anything in it to liven it up a bit :hmm::lol: , I must be hooked on it , I can drink a good half a bottle on a shoot day and still drive about with no ill effects :good:

I think you must have been unlucky with that particular bottle, Simon.

Poor storage in the shop? Bad batch?

I've drunk that brand in the past - easy drinking and unmemorable, perhaps, but not actually bad.

I've found most cheap Chilean wines to be OK, well certainly compared to cheap European or Australian wines, As I say, easy drinking and unmemorable.

Brought a bottle of this Saturday....... Along with an aldi sirloin.

The wine is definitely a hit and the missus has already suggested stocking up the cupboard.

Just waiting on th steak now.

Great shout on the wine though, thanks 👍

No problem, glad you enjoyed it.

The Sirloins are very good, but l would steer clear of their Rump.

I don't normally mind Rump so long as its cooked properly but I think for the minimal price difference it would be daft not to have the better steak.

We tried a wine at the show the other weekend that was supposed to retail at £15 plus vat but I can't honestly say it was any nicer than the one from aldi.

Have a look at their lron Horse Barossa if your feeling flush.

If you really are a Farmboy l think you’ll get my drift, and it’s an excellent wine at the same time.

Ha very fitting, I think at that price it's also worth a try.

The missus came home with a bottle from Morrisons the other day, I forget the name but it was from the 'chosen by you' range.

Who ever choose it clearly had no taste buds as it was vile. At £6.50 it was at the top of end of what I like paying for a supermarket wine. Think I'll stick with aldi for wine from now on.
