There is. But they charge the grounds for collecting them. As much as I applaud companies being green and upcycling used materials (the company I know of that collect and recycle cartridges make benches and such like out of the plastic), they are usually in it for the money. But knowing how that ground operates they may put the price up to 40p and justify this rise in their policy of having to supply bins on the stands. I know what you mean. It seems strange how the little grounds keep costs so low, and then there is a big leap to the next level. I understand how much some have spent on infrastructure, but many seem to just take the ****.
Jega
Well that's a shame ,me and my lad go way way back with Park Lodge . Back to the days when it was just a few porta cabins with Paul doing the booking in admin . Although the new club house /restaurant is a beautiful facility i have often wondered just how such a huge investment would offer any sort of return ,i know they have tried to push the spa ,conference facilities and restaurant, but i think the location was a big drawback for these activities . Some where along the line the core business ( shooting ) seems to have been forgotten as many of the previous posters have said the quality and consistency of some of the stands leaves a bit to be desired as well as some of the reception staffs attitude to paying clients. I really hope that someone takes it on as a shooting ground , but the way things are with our sport i very much doubt it . On 16/05/2021 at 16:43, TRINITY said: It still is a great ground. It just needs better management ,better customer relations and a more realistic pricing structure. +

Spiderdude
I've been back in the last few days and the bins for cartridges are now back in situ, though it does appear plenty of folks are incapable of picking up after themselves. Any idea why they closed their membership. The last few times I have been there was hardly anyone there. I thought they would be encouraging as many members as they could find. Like you I would have thought they’d have wanted as many as possible right now.
JTaylor91
Just been to park lodge for a quick 100 this afternoon seen as there are no pigeons on the perm and haven’t been out for a while. Fairly busy for a Friday afternoon.
Sporting5
Looks like a lovely ground. I've been to most grounds but not visited here yet, left a bit of a bitter taste in my mouth last time I spoke to them though over one thing or another so didn't plan on visiting. If it changes hands I will visit happily, issue was with the owners not the ground.
Centrepin
Apparently it's still for sale with a price tag of 3 million. 🤦
Stonepark
Wouldn't touch with a barge pole, the safety ground (where the shot falls) is not part of the deal. Also they have planning for weddings and lodges to push up value...

I don't begrudge whoever is working on the accommodation side on a Sunday morning when they are dealing with all the complaints about noise from the shooting ground waking them up. Which will happen on a weekly basis.
Squinting shot
Can't believe what I am reading yorkgate gun club run down and littered with cartridges, unbelievable, Phil and Pauline ran a fantastic shoot and the work that went into building the stands and paths to make it easier and cleaner to go shooting, it was a spotless shooting ground. What a shame that the sport and the fun of many a hundred people gas been allowed to be spoilt by a few NEW local residents, the clubs been around alot of years and if people move near a sports ground they should not be allowed to complain and put people out of work by shutting grounds down. Who is running the club now, good luck to all who clay bash it seems like a disappearing sport

They liked full loads to collect but this would not be a problem to bag them up in tote bags till sufficient accumulated. After all, the grade of plastic and the metal heads make for two valuable commodoties, if a recycling process can split them. Looking at park lodge pricing structure ,I would say they have quite a good margin in there in order to collect empties. We get our cartridges recycled, there is a video on the web about it, but we have to pay for it. A builders bag hold 21000 and Laporte take them away when delivering clays

Phil and Pauline have kept their high standards. I was there this week and Phil and his staff are still walking the line with magnetic stick in hand taking care of the shooters. In fact, it has never looked so good. Rumour is that the sale is in the final stage with the solicitors, but I don't know who is taking it on or when. I heard someone saying that the new owners are planning on turning it into an activity centre, but I assume that's just speculation. Whatever happens, I'm sure Phil and Pauline will be missed and I hope that the new owners carry forward the club ethos that has been built under Phil, and Bob previously.
