I was under the impression that there was a company out there that specialised in used cartridge cases.

There is. But they charge the grounds for collecting them. As much as I applaud companies being green and upcycling used materials (the company I know of that collect and recycle cartridges make benches and such like out of the plastic), they are usually in it for the money.

Looking at park lodge pricing structure ,I would say they have quite a good margin in there in order to collect empties. But knowing how that ground operates they may put the price up to 40p and justify this rise in their policy of having to supply bins on the stands.

I know what you mean. It seems strange how the little grounds keep costs so low, and then there is a big leap to the next level. I understand how much some have spent on infrastructure, but many seem to just take the ****.

Well that's a shame ,me and my lad go way way back with Park Lodge . Back to the days when it was just a few porta cabins with Paul doing the booking in admin .

Although the new club house /restaurant is a beautiful facility i have often wondered just how such a huge investment would offer any sort of return ,i know they have tried to push the spa ,conference facilities and restaurant, but i think the location was a big drawback for these activities . Some where along the line the core business ( shooting ) seems to have been forgotten as many of the previous posters have said the quality and consistency of some of the stands leaves a bit to be desired as well as some of the reception staffs attitude to paying clients.

I really hope that someone takes it on as a shooting ground , but the way things are with our sport i very much doubt it .

It still is a great ground. It just needs better management ,better customer relations and a more realistic pricing structure.

Prices are now 36p a clay and 25p for members but membership is currently closed.

Any idea why they closed their membership. The last few times I have been there was hardly anyone there. I thought they would be encouraging as many members as they could find.

No, they just said that as they’ve just reopened they are not seeking new members at this time.

Like you I would have thought they’d have wanted as many as possible right now.

Just been to park lodge for a quick 100 this afternoon seen as there are no pigeons on the perm and haven’t been out for a while. Fairly busy for a Friday afternoon.
