A change of tack given the lack of spring fishing locally.

Am starting to plan a short fishing break in Derbyshire and trying to find out what water is available on a day ticket or for a couple or 3 days.

Not sure if I want accommodation attached to the fishing but any hotels etc. with fishing would be useful.

TIA

Or if you want a more quieter scenic part of Derbyshire search chee dale / monsal dale fly fishing I believe it could be a club water but they might do day tickets etc it is a truly stunning stretch of water on a sunny day & I've seen good numbers of trout rising there while out walking the dog.

The Wild Trout Trust runs an annual auction and there are many suitable lots that you could go for. Several of them include the opportunity to get a point in the right direction from either the donor, or club member, and that can make the difference on new water. I'd be looking for the ones with native Rainbows on the Derbyshire Wye.

The Peacock Hotel at Rowsley used to have and still has its own waters. And for sightseeing is close to Chatsworth House. You might try them? I could think of nothing so nice. My late father used to stay there and fish in the time when George Brown was MP for Belper. And to that generation in the Peak District Foster's was still a fly rod and tackle shop in Ashbourne and not a cheap Australian lager brewed God knows where except "down under".

As per Kevin55 - take a look at the passport program.  I've used them in other areas but not the Peak District - you buy a book of tokens and then there is an honesty box at each beat/river, if a beat is 3 tokens you fill your details in, put them in the box and start fishing.  It's a great system.

I tried one of the Peaks Pass beats when coming back from a business meeting in Liverpool.

TBH, it was pretty muddy and I reckon I caught the only few in there!! Broke the journey up a treat though, and took me through some great scenery I’d have missed if going the main routes.
