.357shooter Posted August 11, 2023 Report Share Posted August 11, 2023 well last night i could hear loads of police,firengines and god knows what else hammering around in the distance.turns out a plane had to make an emergancy landing on the middle of the a40.not your everyday occurance for sure.as the crow flries it is maybe 2-3 miles from where i live. The A40 is the major road intersecting with the M5 south of the airport and along it's southern perimeter. Again depending on his height when engine conked his chosen landing emergency land spot may be determined what he can see in front of him. if he had height he may have been able to be a bit more selective! TIGHTCHOKE Posted August 12, 2023 Report Share Posted August 12, 2023 We would have the throttle closed without warning and were given 4 seconds to make a decision and start to carry it through, then the instructor would either open the throttle and let you carry on or open the throttle and take over control.
