You said I didnt have a clue, yet failed to point out where I was wrong ?

You said I would educate myself watching police programs
Is that where your legal background comes from ?

What offences are we talking about ?
Drunk and disorderly ? Abusive behaviour ? Then yes , they would need a few thousand more cops on an average night out !

I think you mix up the essence of arrest, once the suspected crime has been investigated, details taken ect, then its decided if A. A crime has been committed, and B. Whether its in the public interest to charge.
After that , its up to the CPS to prosecute, or not.

As above, is it worthwhile ? Are there mitigating circumstances ? There are many reasons why they get dropped.

Are you actually saying if it gets put on social media , there is less chance of prosecution ?
Thats bizarre.

I know how far people 'push it'  Trust me , I dont need to watch any police programmes to know that.

I believe this me telling you are wrong.

Where did I say the police could arrest anyone without good reason?

Yes the police can charge certain offences without getting cps approval.

I don't know your legal background but I suggest it is more out of date than mine is. Going by what you have said possibly not even in England or Wales.

Which trumps your degree in barrack room lawyering. 🤔

However I do have real life (Not a one off) experience of policing and the judicial system. Do you ?

I see, youre not actually telling me what Ive got wrong , but just repeating what Ive said.

And your legal qualifications ARE really from watching TV, but thats better than barrack room lawyering apparently ?

Thats your argument ?

Ill give you some advice.
Stop watching TV cop shows.
When you want to argue with someone, come up with some coherent facts in opposition. Dont just say ,' Youre wrong !'
Learn that your opinion is not necessarily a FACT (This ones important)

Have a nice day 🙂

To be fair I think all this distracts from the issue at hand. Which is policing is failing miserably at the moment.

I told you where wrong and that the police could charge an offence without consulting the cps.  The rest is just you muddying the waters.

A tip for you also. Don't base your life experiences on everything you read or watch on the internet.

You also have a nice day. I'm done.

On the face of it and the way its been reported it does look like they have gone in heavy handed and yes they probably did over react to the situation but not knowing the history of the family or the area it maybe that the police have come under attack before when attending incidents in that area.

Without knowing the full facts of how it escalated to the point where the young girl was arrested I find it hard to make a judgement either way.

From what I gather, the girl made an observation, that's all.

She is a power grabber and a right wee hissy fitter aint she?  No reason to react to the guy really just being curious as would most of us I think.  Tother chap only got into it when he realised she had gone over the score, and was really trying to calm it down by appealing to him by asking would you like that if someone did the same to you (or words to that effect I think?).  Many hours more pounding the beat whilst supervised by a seasoned copper me-thinks.

Although the pcso's looked like they should still be in school, I thought the guy was a tool. He got far to close and right in her personal space and clearly was trying to get a reaction, hence already recording.

Exactly this.

Why would the guy approach the PCSO’s with his phone recording?
He caused the whole (non) incident on purpose. Idiot.

Hes an auditor, he makes money on Youtube getting views on police and security reactions.
He tries to do it in an amusing fashion, while highlighting their over reaction and lack of knowledge within the law.

Some people dont agree with this, and thats fine, but I used it as an example of police, and particularly PCSOs complete lack of knowledge when it comes to public photography within the law.
Yes he stepped into her space , but its not illegal to do this , we all do it every day in public, and no one (usually ) bats an eyelid.
The difference here , is that the PCSO thought she had some special privilege because of her 'rank'

Just like the lady who arrested the autistic girl thought she had some special power that could remove some ones liberty within her own home , for a casual comment on her looks.

I'm not against anyone doing something that's not illegal, but stepping into someone's personal space, particularly when your a man and your stepping into a slightly built girls space could be considered threatening, which she clearly did. She didn't tell him he'd broken the law, simply enquired what he was up to. Personally I'd have had some sterner words for the pillock if he'd done that to me.

All that said, the pcso's in my opinion are in the wrong job, they pretty much got bullied by a plonker with a camera, how could they possibly deal with a hardened criminal and that's without getting into the conversation of what's the point to any pcso, they have no power further than any citizen to do anything really.

Like I said earlier the police is failing and letting the public down badly and it starts with them employing the wrong people for the job.

Agreed on all points.
Like I said, their grasp of the law is woeful, and yes, hes a plonker with a camera !

But employing what appears to be someone with dwarfism , and an 8 stone wet through girl to be PCSO s, the agenda seems to rely more on inclusivity , than effective policing ?

The good old "positive" discrimination, so beloved of the Labour Party!
