Good to see the Shadow Chancellor on the BBC this morning.

She is pontificating about getting people off benefits and back to work and cutting taxes.

I had to check she was the real Labour MP Rachel Reeves.

VERY strange.

She was possibly confused with some policy that was knocking about back in 1978?

Say anything to get votes in the next general election. They have a room at every conference above it is a sign that says my right not to work, go in and they tell you ways of staying out of work, this is genuine and not a joke. Wouldn't trust Liebour as far as i could throw starmer. Not that i trust anyone in politics, self centred ego maniacs.

I heard an interview with her a few months back, she was saying the same thing about cutting tax, when pushed and pushed  by the interviewer, on whether Labour would be cutting tax if elected, she said, now is not the time to cut tax.

Same interview - she also said she has no control of her own finances, not in those words but....... more going out each month, than coming in!!!

yep👍

mainstream conservatism is far too left wing for my liking and that's why Reform will hoover up a shed load of Tory votes ending any chance they have of keeping in power.

Conservatism can work, but what stops it?

Socialism can work, but what stops it?

Communism should work, but it what stops it?

The answer is simple..  the people in power!  It is not in their best interest to have social order, peace, or religious harmony.

Hello, Her and Diane Abbot make a right pair 🤔

But they are the FUTURE, this is what we are about to get.

There has to be a General Election by January 2025 and then Liebour will be running the show.      :w00t:

Very crafty by the Tories to cut National insurance so that the low paid don’t gain,or pensioners! Only those working and under 66,the bigger earners gaining more of course, typically Tory, the rich get richer. Need thresholds up not National insurance down,so most get a small gain!

No, but some are worse than others. People have short memories.

Go on name those “worse than others”, don’t leave those of us with short memories dangling

I get all of the “liebour” but can anyone really say the Tories are bastions of truth?

Are any of them?

Wasn't 'Liebour' a play on the libor rate scandal that came out towards the end of the last Labour government?

I always presumed the term had just stuck and taken on a life of its own.

My memory is that every post-war Labour government has left the economy in a much worse state than it inherited.

And before anybody writes that the current Conservatives aren't making much of a job of it, Covid, Ukraine and unfettered immigration (thanks to Blair) have all increased the problems.
