Agree police having their guns taking off them here while making an arrest just doesn't happen, some are trying to use that as a reason for the officers actions in this case.

I can imagine I'd get a proper kicking if I tried grabbing a gun while queuing for lunch next week, and quite rightly,  if they've tried getting a weapon then things are going to be very heated.

Hopefully there's more video footage comes out at some point

Funny how this has taken over the news, and we (as a nation, just so there is no confusion)are no longer talking about the actual 'attempted assassination' of a serving soldier on our streets, by a terrorist, sorry someone with mental health issues.

Tin hat firmly on, of course.......

TBF, the replies in that thread only stopped 9 hours ago, and there doesn't appear to be any further news coming from the MSM, not that I could see.

Both that and this thread are very emotive, and I'm sure the other one will kick off again when the details gets updated 👍

To be fair, in certain circumstances I can’t say I disagree with you.

To be even fairer,,,, I'm sure that's not part of police training, except in extreme circumstances of course 🫡

Does that mean I can take my tin hat off now

In fairness, it is an ongoing case, so the MSM are probably limited on what they can say/report.

Will that apply to this case against the copper, now a criminal investigation is underway. I wonder :hmm:

Funny how that got more of a mention than the Bobby getting stabbed inside a prison too  ??

Yep, not heard that one at all, except on here, when you mentioned it. Not seen it in the news at all.

That's because you don't search, it was on the Beeb news and on their website, perhaps you need to look further...

I have studded  the footage and it does appear that there was something on the floor at the side of the lad and the officer attempted to kick that aside and missed and then stamped on it.

Was it a mobile phone.

All is not as it seems.

Should have gone to specsavers.

 I don't spend the day searching the internet for bad news stories.

If it is broadcasted on the news while I am watching or listening or comes up on my news feed, then I will see/hear it. If not, it remains out in the internet land.

The fact that it is on the BBC website, but isn't main stream news, speaks volumes.

P.S thanks for.the link, I may bother to read it now it is there.

I was just going to say this, there's probably all sorts of grim news out there, but I'm not looking for it.

It was on the main news on TV as well as the website, so perhaps a quick look might help broaden your worldview?

It was on the news earlier that the Police have opened a criminal investigation into the officer's conduct.

For the record, irrespective of what went on earlier, I think the officer was wrong. That said, I hope it doesn't turn into a witch hunt, fueled by an opportunistic lawyer and a mob.

Or should I be watching the news 24/7 just so I can catch a brief glimps of the story of a police office getting stabbed, amongst the barrage of news about a police officer assaulting someone...................

I watched a bit on the news yesterday with Andy Burnham (Mayor of Manchester and former Labour MP), I thought here we go, going to take the assaulted man’s side.

But no, he stated he had seen the build up to the kicking and said there was a lot more to the story than what has been made public.

Will be interesting 🤔
