GB News makes £6.7 million on advertising...... last year it cost £40 odd million to run.....so it is making a loss of £33 million quid

Question......how the hell can it continue to survive on air.......

am i missing something here ??

EDIT ...is it funded by Elon Musk ??

It's not unusual for large companies to make losses in the initial years, GB News has entered a saturated news market and have to fight for recognition and viewers, no doubt the investers want a return so they will keep it affloat in the hope it breaks through and starts to turn a profit. The may be a time where the main investors think enough is enough and it would collapse.

Most UK newspapers made a loss and used to be passed from millionaire to millionaire who would use them as vanity projects until they got bored, then moved them on.

Then Rupert Murdoch got involved and decided to sort out the print unions and introduce more efficient methods.

UK TV in the 50s and 60s used to be exceedingly profitable, but less so now. It hasn't yet had efficiency applied to it.

It's an interesting one because I reckon the true viewership demographics of GB News would make it a prime advertising platform (white, conservative, tax payers / net contributors) but any brand attempting to advertise on there gets hounded by the very active rabid left - they can expect their social media accounts, trust pilot, google reviews and so on to be hammered by an organised hoard of the blue haired brigade from hope not hate.

It will come good though and as everyone now sickens of the likes of the BBC and channel 4. Indeed, the G B News viewing figures are likely to signal a buy out by Murdoch and Co.

Come on clangerman, you've always got something negative to say, what's your solutions?

You often criticise anything anyone posts on the following subjects, so I'd be genuinely interested on your perspectives on the following subjects:-

What sources are best for us to get information and news from?

How do we tackle the illegal migration issues affecting the UK and the West in general?

What political party/party's should we vote for and if non of them, then what should we do to effect change in the UK?

I would be interested too.

more the unpleasant taste of truth than criticism it’s bit pointless my offering solutions when our only way of installing them is a pathetic vote or moan on a forum but if you dislike my odd thought process just join in the ridicule at least you will get a laugh from it

I'm not ridiculing, I'm interested in if you have any thoughts for solutions as you are always strongly opinionated on what not to do, but I have yet to see many of your ideas on a way forward?

GB News is by far the best news channel out there.  Sky and the BBC are rammed full of woke left wing bias.

I watch many sources of news, including GB news, I find I hear of stories, some of them quiet big, that most news channels don't cover.

Surely the problem here is they’re at least 5 years too late?

Many people, myself included, have given up on broadcast television. What’s the point paying £150/yr & having to sit through interminable, unskippable adverts, only be talked as though you were some kind of simpleton.

The fact that ofcom have deigned to give a broadcast licence to a channel with possible right-of-centre views is simply not relevant to large parts of the population who’ve already “checked out” or young people who never even started watching ‘linear’ television.
