marsh man Posted Tuesday at 18:54 Report Share Posted Tuesday at 18:54 Funny how some people like Black pudding and others including myself don't , I think it's the look rather than the taste , having said that I can't ever remember if I ever tasted it and there I am saying I am not keen on the stuff , you could say the same with all the bits that are more or less by products of a Cow , I have at some time tried them and if you put a plateful in front of me now then I would do my best to eat the lot , good job we have all got different likes and dislikes . JohnfromUK Posted Wednesday at 17:14 Report Share Posted Wednesday at 17:14 I will eat black pudding - but it's not a great favourite and not something I would do. If I'm out somewhere and it arrives on the plate, I'll eat it, but rarely at home. I just don't much like the taste. I'm also not a hash brown fan. Buble and squeak, yes, fried potato (either leftover mash or leftover boiled/roast fried up are great, but the shop bought hash browns always look OK but are disappointing to eat. Having said that - the best I have had were from Aldi I think.
Bigbob Posted Wednesday at 17:43 Report Share Posted Wednesday at 17:43 The black pudding we seem to get now is like a big sausage often they cut it in half and give you a half on your plate
marsh man Posted Wednesday at 17:49 Report Share Posted Wednesday at 17:49 Never took much interest in Black pudding as I could never remember any of our family eating it , same with Haggis , I know Haggis come from north of the border , so do any of you brainy chaps or lasses know where Black pudding come from ? THANKS for that , I don't go out to many eating out places nowadays but even when I did I didn't see it on the menu , maybe I wasn't looking for it although finding an English restaurant in town now is the height of impossibility , every country in the E U and beyond but English , sadly not . MM Most places that offer a 'full English' (i.e. a fried breakfast) include it either as one of the plated items, or as an option. Try it. It's not (to me) unpleasant at all, it's just that I prefer other things. The problem with buying (e.g from a supermarket) is that you get rather too much to just try. One slice is a good sized helping for me (and I do like my fry ups!).

Silly me , I never gave it a thought it was a breakfast meal , we went for a meal at night when one of us had a birthday or a anniversary , no wonder I never saw it on evening menu , just show you what a sheltered life we lived .MM
