Hello, If found most likely  get let off with a warning, Any fine is seldom payed or payed off in instalments , Years ago a Chap i know bought some land off the A34 with a long private access road out of view on traffic , Due to a marriage breakdown he could not visit often , Unfortunate the fly tippers found it and dumped load after load of Rubbish, it cost him £1000s to clear up ,

This has obviously been dumped using large lorries, so how they think they're going to get away with it ,I don't know 🤷‍♂️ Like TC says, the clear-up people have found paper evidence amongst the garbage, so at least that's a start to finding these rogue clearance scum !

We're has all this stuff been stored. Before it was dumped. There. The amount. Of cameras around the country. Let's hope. One has picked it up. What if emergency services had need. To get down that road .

Doorbell cameras, shopfront cameras etc should pick up something along the routes in and out. Fingers crossed, the 'info/details' that they've found in the debris will start the investigation on a positive 🙏

It said on the news it seemed this had been aimed at a single individual/company,

if you look at the contents of what has been tipped, it is mostly construction site waste, what lies at the top of Watery lane but a construction site.

We have it regularly - not on that scale, but van sized loads.  The council officials have names (paperwork is sometimes present in the material) - but it comes from an 'untouchable' site that despite what the name might suggest - doesn't actually move from place to place.  The site itself is also surrounded by a wall of rotting garbage and builders waste.

I was thinking on the route there somewhere. With the size of those piles it would have to be large lorries, so quite easy to spot ? Obviously this would be only a small part of any evidence.

I saw a video on socials earlier today about this and from what I saw I’d put my money on it being one vehicle, an artic pulling a walking floor trailer. As to the why’s a what for’s not a clue. Disgusting behaviour irrelevant of reason though.

We used to get a lot of fly tipping on the estate where I worked , my boss used to hate seeing a sweet paper blowing about let alone a load of rubbish dumped in a driveway leading to a field , one Friday morning of every month we all had to walk down the minor roads and put any rubbish in Black bags , these were then collected by the county council so everyone worked in with each other , we did catch one guy , the farm manager was going down this road when he saw a white pick up truck dumping some rubbish, when they saw him they drove off in a hurry and forgot to put the tail board back , when he picked it up he found it had the number plate on , this was given to the police and they made a case from it , they had to pick all the rubbish up and was fined with added costs .    MM

Similar story:

Back in he mid 1960’s, when my Dad was a copper, he found a load of rubbish dumped in a local lane. Checking through it he found mostly bags of wallpaper strippings, old household junk and some tatty children’s toys. Looking in one child’s book he found a little girl had thoughtfully written her name and address on the fly sheet. He loaded the whole lot into the patrol car (a Mk3 Zephyr!) and took it to the address and right in front of the girl’s father scattered the lot on his front lawn. Good, old fashioned policing.

I am sure that even in this day and age the police and the wardens could find more of these fly tippers by some old fashion policing , going back to our place , before we had a lot of commercial days our old boss had his own syndicate , these were mainly old codgers who were not used to do a lot themselves so after a shoot day the chap who drove them about on the shoot day itself had to go round every peg on every drive and pick up the used cartridge cases , if he found a lot he had to report back and in time we found most of the old codgers were carrying one of those cartridge magnets that were on an extended stick even though none of them ever mentioned it
