:good: We like :good:

Northstar up front ? sounds like a baby farting then

Details, details !!

Tikka Varmint .243 with the heavy barrel and 5 shot mag, S&B PMII 5-25X56 gen II Illuminated P4 Fine reticule, Butler creeks, Optilock mounts, ASE Northstar Mod

As soon as I got to the farm to have a play it rained! so i only got a few shots off with a good clean after each of Hornady 58 grains, one box at a time to test prob the 75 grainers next,

The scope view is the dogs danglers and at almost dark I could still see the trees some way off, the field of view is fantastic (wide) even on X12 mag OK sure it has way way more turret turns than I need as most use will be point and pull on Charlies, however what you get with S&B is IMHO worth stumping up for, I also already have the sun extentions and got an extra set of rings to convert for the lightforce 170 lamp bracket (34mm) let hope it shoots as good as it looks

Congratulations PAV nice setup very tactical looking I must say. B)

I was inpressed with the POLICE MARKSMAN S&B when veiwing it but found it to be too much scope for the range of the .243 decided to go for the S&B 3-12x42. as a Deer stalking setup

I also battled with the decision wether to have a MOD as you are only going to get one shoot at a Deer or a Fox and this seemed to sugest that the only real reason to have a Mod is to reduce noise with regards to the human population rather than any potential targetsstill milling around after the first shot has been taken. Being fully aware that no matter what Mod one has it will not stop the high velocity CRACK from the round going supersonic.

What i will say about your set up is that it is great looking Tactical setup and will be able to cope with any future shooting needs with regards to you going for deer or target shooting. As you mentioned you will probably not use the scope to it full potential unless you join the local SWAT Team, I just hope that the scope does not encourage you to take too longer shoots beond the rounds capabilities as it seems that in this day and age most people have an ultre ego which centres around the character of Master Gunnery sergant Thomas Beckett who would look more at home shouldering such a fine looking tactical weapon than the Pavman.  :good: Hey maybe a Ghille suit and i will be your spotter :good::mad: "wind quarter value ,,, Range 800 .. incline 28 degree ... Hold scope ... FIRE FIRE FIRE ...." Feel the rush .... see the pink mist :sly::yes:

I leave you all with this thought. If i was out shooting .... say a Fox at a range of 250 meters would my CZ 550 American .243 and S&B 3-12x42 with a Wildcat 200 MOD do a better or worse job than Pavs setup........

This is in no way a crititism but what i have found is that the shooting industy seem to cosmetically increase the presetation of a weapon with S/S bull barrels scopes that can zoom into the surface of the moon and so on.as you know its called Marketing  What i am saying is that all this stuff shoots a big hole in our bank acounts but ultimately does the same thing shoots a .243 round at a given target with an acceptable level of accuracyaccording to the range of the round fired.

;) What is important is that Pavs got what he wanted and has good shooting with it.. as thats what it is all about ...

Have fun and don't forget KEEP IT FUNKY :good:
