Ran across this beauty. Unfired and dang near perfect. 95% of these got cut up and turned into deer rifles so to find one in the US that is unmolested is getting rare.

sad times indeed, we have not had payment for pigeons for a couple of years now. ours are collected and its nice to know they are not wasted. maybe in the future things will change, we will have to wait and see.

+1. Apparently according to Back British Game this is what we must do. And "pay today" is a donation of 50p per bird shot, Well the game shooting I do thrives already "without a market for the birds we shoot" as it ALL gets shared between beaters, pickers-up and, finally, the guns. And has always been so. Not a bird is surplus so not a birds has needed to be sold. So what the "puff" above is really saying is that "put simply BIG BAG COMMERCIAL game shooting cannot JUSTIFY ITSELF AGAINST CRITICISM FROM WILD JUSTICE ET AL without THE FICTION OF THE ACTIVITY BEING ABOUT WILD MEAT BEING "HARVESTED" FOR THE FOOD CHAIN." Well good for Back British Game but please don't claim that the game shooting of the sort I have enjoyed cannot thrive without a market. Never did when I started in the late 1980s and never did when my son started in the 2020s. This whole scheme is merely another "divert brickbat" exercise to protect the big bag commercial shoots. I am not fooled and indeed the only ones being fooled are those that want to fool themselves. -

When our county game dealers started to close down I put the feelers out at our local , pubs , restaurants and butchers , the first pub I struck lucky , it was on the estate where I do my shooting and he was buying up to 30 a week and game in season , then the lock downs started and he had to close like everyone else , then he reopened and carried on buying my Pigeons , the lock downs carried on and he was shutting and opening like a yo yo , finally his four lease ran out and he didn't dare to renew it , again I put the feelers out and to begin they were all keen , I delivered them fresh and was taking 25 a fortnight for £10 as I used about £3 in fuel to drop them off , after about four deliveries they had half a freezer full they couldn't sell , same with the butchers and the restaurant wanted them oven ready which I had to take to another butcher , pick them up and then take them to the restaurant , then sometimes you had to wait for your money having already paid the other butcher to process them , now this year I just cannot be bothered to do the running about and I give any I get to one of our shoot helpers .this is the first year in over 50 years of shooting Pigeons I haven't sold a single Pigeon and I cannot see anything changing very soon . Yes agreed. Browning / Miroku …. same difference. They’ve both stood up well throughout several decades.

Thing is what they were voted in for is now not what they are pushing, every politicos promisd to undo what others have done,by then its to late, there is no revolt nowadays and government know this,,covid proved the sheep will in the majority follow,, i was on the west coast of Ireland recently, basicaly back of nowhere and go a couple villages further, migrants on the street, there is no life for them there but they are being pushed out of the city to disappear into the vast beyond away from mainstream eyes!
-
Sadly by that time it may well be too late for us all.
