  1. I think with the shortage of birds price increases for pellet and wheat there was always going to be a price increase. Not sure you can blame the Keepers. If a gun has booked and paid a deposit it is normally at an agreed price in writing, if the price changes a lot I would think the shoot would or should return the deposit.
  2. We are looking for a half possibly full gun on our diy syndicate not far from Newquay. We shoot on Saturdays normally 10 days. A half gun will shoot 5 days standing all day and hopefully will come and beat the other 5 days, you will be partnered up with another gun and between you decide who is shooting when. We are a diy shoot so you will expected to do work parties and feed rota at least twice a week when the birds first go to wood, so living close will be best. We shoot 20-40 birds a day and all the birds are taken home by the beaters and guns. The whole thing about our shoot is having fun and not taking yourself too seriously, we will cheer when you hit a good bird and laugh when you miss an easy one and expect the same in return. Having a dog would be a great advantage and we cover a lot of ground by foot walking between the drives so you need to be fairly mobile. At the moment we release somewhere around 900 birds, there are a few Partridge about and a possibly a Duck if you are lucky. Cost £380 for half a gun. Contact me for more info.
  3. I have this Boker Arbolito Nomad that I no longer have a use for. Designed by Peter Farkes. I was on the Hennie Haynes waiting list for this and when I finally got it I had already bought something else. It has been sat in a draw for 6 months and just rediscovered. It’s only been out of its box for me to have a look at and take the photos. It is brand new with its box. Retails at Hennie Haynes for £146.95 This one £120.00 delivered. Bank transfer preferred. I can send more photos by email, text or WhatsApp. Instead of just links. https://link.shutterfly.com/iUkQZd4t4pb https://link.shutterfly.com/aMzlxzdu4pb https://link.shutterfly.com/U3JCoZgu4pb https://link.shutterfly.com/HmArpvju4pb https://link.shutterfly.com/COFTaGmu4pb https://link.shutterfly.com/BbJFKJpu4pb
  4. Mouse I think. I have 4 cameras set up around my shoot I still get excited when I change over the memory cards and plug them in the computer. Last time one camera had over 300 photos and videos on it, 90% of them the same bloody cock pheasant who had set himself up in a new territory.
  5. BASC and NGO. I just bought 2 new pick ups for my business and used a BASC discount voucher that got free towbar and fitting by the dealer, saved me £750.00 per truck so I have made the money back for the last 20 ish years I have been a member.
  6. Mad, I have been out around the shoot, my place, walking the dogs and seen nothing till yesterday. Are you sorted for this coming season?
  7. I am so pleased to have seen the first Swallows of the year. 8 days later than last year and 3 weeks later than the year before. For the 10 years previous they have normally arrived about the 11th April. I guess after a journey of 8000 miles the weather must make a huge difference to their arrival day.
  8. I buy a few days and am lucky enough to get a some invites to some nice shoots. But for value for money my syndicate is good as long as you don't want big bags £700 ish per season, shoot 10 days bags from 20 to 45, plus pest control year round. A great bunch of guys, we feed and water our beaters but don't pay them, they do have the pick of the bag and we also have a healthy amount of children that come along for the day. Local golf club in comparison membership is £680 per year or £45 per round.
  9. All arrived, Thank you. These will be going on the wall of our new shoot room at my pheasant syndicate.
  10. A few years back I put on a post with photos about curing your own bacon. I will see if I can find it. and add it to this thread.
  11. Completely agree, you are preaching to the converted.
  12. And it does the same job.
  13. My daily wear is normally my Omega Planet Ocean. I love the Omega brand, It's like having a handmade gun compared to a Beretta off the shelf, both do the same job but the Omega will not lose a lot and may even increase in value. I do every day, working, shooting, surfing etc. You were not wrong.😜
  14. Interesting, nice to see Dachshunds working. So different to my 300 mile an hour Spaniels.
  15. I will take it if not already sold.
  16. A quick search and found their website. They do national deliveries going to order some bacon, sausages and a few other bits to see what they are like. Thanks for the heads up.
  17. I had Cens DX3 and thought they were good. Unfortunately its the Cens customer service that lets the company down. When I purchased some replacements I bought from CFG, I received them before then end of last season and to be honest think they are great as good as the Cens, cheaper and with a customer services department that want to help.
  18. Interested but would need them posting. Have you any idea how much that might be?
  19. They look ansum, just a bit of practice on your crimping 😜
  20. Really enjoyed the England v Wales match. The score was a bit flattering, but Wales gave away far too many penalties and England were almost unstoppable inside the twenty two.
  21. If you want to know some more about how bad it was for our men over there, have a read or listen to "Three Days In June" a book about 3 para's battle for Mount Longdon written by the men who were there.
