  1. You may be missing my point stu64 - bring the temp of the pellets up to exactly 20c before measuring them - pretty sure that 20 degrees is the standard temp when measuring metal.
  2. stu64 - repeat your measuring tests after holding your pellets in your hand for a minute - totally different size. If you are going to be so anal as to measure pellets then it should be done at a standard temperature.
  3. Surely the simplest answer is to use the banger's in your cartridge bag? "I fired off several shots to scare the birds off - but they simply returned" How much time and effort (not to mention the cost of some kind of acceptable recording medium) is going to be needed to successfully prosecute you?
  4. Well that's probably the cheapest option, joejoe, but do you know, long term, that the dog is getting all the vitamins and minerals that he needs? Raw food has never really floated my boat - seems a lot of arguments against it and the options I have seen locally are quite pricey. Try the wet food from Akela, Lloyd90, next time you go away but you need to remember that switching foods will cause stomach upsets because of acid fluctuations - mine produce stinky gravy for anything up to a week before returning to solid bagable eggs when changing their food.
  5. Porridge compared to our London Brick Company reject 1949 jobbies - pretty sure they are bullet proof 😂.
  6. With their 9 million pounds worth of assets I am surprised that the BASC have not already tied NE up in knots over their ridiculous proposals in a Court Room - I'm guessing they are playing the waiting game. Can someone knock on their door and tell them to pull their finger out.
  7. What power drill do you have Diver One, only I have had no issues with the ones I bought last year and our Bricks are bleedin rock hard!
  8. So over the last 4 years we have tried just about every wet dog food on the market - our Springer's seem to have really sensitive stomachs and tend to prefer the ,er, more expensive brands but sooner or later they get bored and one of them in particular simply stops eating. So ,after reading the advice on "allaboutdogfood" I decided to just cut to the chase and buy the highest rated food tested - Akela. First of all, it's not cheap at £2 per 400g can (and I cannot find anybody that discounts it) but I have to admit that, after 6 weeks now, it's dammed good stuff at any price. Both Dogs coats are the best they have ever been and each and every variety is devoured - zero waste. We have discovered that you can buy them direct from the maker at a better price if you buy 60 cans - it then works out at £1.35 per can and ,I'm fairly certain, that no other Dog food comes even close in quality at this price. Try it.
  9. I think that Lidl have got some in at the moment - about 3 foot long some of them.
  10. You can cut about 1/2" off the barrel or just get a Gunsmith to open it/them out - about £40 a side normally.
  11. BASC AGM Minutes Jan 2018. Chairman Peter Glenser. "The association has never been so financially strong. Over the last 2 years we have recorded a surplus of over £1 million with this last year reaching £1.26 million. The balance sheet has never been so strong with assets of £9 million. This enables us to have a War Chest to protect our sport" makes you wonder where all this money is actually going - talk about being caught with your pants down, it's indefensible and unacceptable.
  12. The word TUG as used in "tugging your forelock" - ever seen it done? Does it remove hair or hurt? Christ on a bike.
  13. Are you deliberately being argumentative reidler? Do you honestly consider a tug on a Dogs ear equal to kicking it - tell you what - you give my ear a tug and I will give you a kick see which is preferable. I'm not talking about wrenching the Dog off the ground by it's ears - you simply put your hand around the ear and wriggle it while growling - there is no pain involved whatsoever. The method was taught to me by an ex British champion springer man who NEVER hit his dogs - he reckoned that breaking a Dogs spirit was breaking a Dog.
  14. I have an old box with 13 of these exact shells in - god alone knows how old they are but must be 20+ years.
  15. Name the waste of oxygen - anyone kick's my Dog is likely to find themselves in a whole world of pain. A tug on a dogs ear and a growl from the trainer should be all that is needed.
  16. 100g ketchup + 100g sugar + 100ml white wine vinegar (Aldi do a cheap one) and 175ml water - whisk in a pan and heat until the the ingredients are mixed (about a minute) then add about a tablespoon of cornflower + or - depending on how thick you want the sauce - heat gently for about another minute and jobs done - I add pineapple chunks and some really thinly sliced carrots (raw) just to add that little extra. If you find it too sweet or too sour you simply alter the vinegar or sugar quantities next time.
  17. If your permission depends on you starving chicks to death then maybe you should consider finding another piece of land. You can shoot the brancher's soon - much more humane but you seem unsure as to wether we are discussing Rooks or Crows? I will blow a crows nest from a tree without thinking twice.
  18. Sweet and Sour sauce is soooo easy to make - White Wine Vinegar/Ketchup and Sugar is all you really need with a little Cornflour for thickening - couple of Pineapple chunks if you like - better than shop bought.
  19. Moving parts in a mount has no bearing on my point Mice - the point is that they can match Sports Match in product quality then ship the item round the world for a total price practically the same as just the postage price of a UK bought item. If they can make cars then they can, sure as heck, make Airguns it's simply a case of economics - when the time is right, and if the market is worth the investment, they will start making world class Airguns. Artemis P-15 - titanium cylinder and regulated for just over £300 (first imports) worth mentioning - few niggles but they will be sorted as the model ages - lets see the likes of Daystate compete with that.
  20. "Will we ever see Chinese guns dominate the UK market - not a hope in Hell" mmmmmm - If I told you 10 years ago that our car market would be flooded with carp Korean cars you wouldn't have believed me - likewise the Early Japanese motorcycles were something to point and laugh at 30 years ago. The Chinese have the Engineering ability and financial might to take the Lions share of the market if, or when, they decide to.They can buy parts from outside suppliers in massive quantities thus cheaper but they will persevere in manufacturing parts themselves until they get it right - labour is cheaper than we could ever dream of so the West could not compete. When you consider that you can buy, say, a pair of Shorts, from a Chinese company and have them posted half way around the world (often faster than if you buy in the UK) for about a third of the price of a UK supplier, you have to admire their retail might.P.S. bought a one piece mount from the bay of plenty about 6 months ago - £7 inc shipping from China and it's as good as any I have ever bought here.
  21. Not sure if I would be happy shooting Rooks over decoys - most will have young in the nest?

    Heads up

The one bottom left doesn't look well?
  23. My daughter just got her first insurance - after comparing the Meerkat we found a quote of £1200 fully comp so decided to note the quote number and start the policy a few days later after she got paid - price had risen to £1500 when she tried to take out the policy - according to the salesman the quote you get is for that day only and can rise or fall every day???
  24. Tin Hat on....... get rid m8 - px it for a used quality rifle and put a £150 or so into a gun designed to do the job - keep the scope and shop around for a used HW80, 95 or even a 77 if you are fit enough. Original 45, Annie 335 etc - there's plenty to choose from if you wait and have cash - IMHO Gammy should be used for training / plinking .
  25. Both as good as each other - but the TX is just that bit more gooder - been just about the best under lever spring gun you can buy from the day it was released, pure class.
