  1. I love the Nikko Stirling Gameking scopes - superb clarity for a cheap scope - bought a mid range Hawke for my .17hmr but took it off within minutes and "stole" the Gameking off my .22lr.
  2. So sorry to hear of this - God Bless you both.
  3. Few things in life compare to the company of a Dog that loves to be with, and work, with you - anyone who shoots throughout their life without at least trying the complete feeling of unity and euphoria of a good Dogs companionship is losing out on an amazing experience.
  4. At the risk of repeating myself ALWAYS put down, at least, the deposit using a Credit card - you have so much more protection.
  5. You kept Goats OB? Just wondering if you ever slaughtered them yourself and ,if so, how you did it m8 - did you stab them in the back?
  6. Sensible point of view Louis, but I already have 2 S410's and the particular task that my new toy will be employed for does not require a rifle capable of match grade accuracy - as long as it will group 1/2" ish over 20 yards then it will be fine. Had I of bought an older gun that turned out to be unreliable or lacking the desired performance then I would not have used it - my original post made that quite clear. The Original 35 I have bought is "only"46 years old but should be up to the job.
  7. If it's got 2 1/2" chambers Mick then putting a 70mm cartridge down her could be fun.
  8. Whilst I fully understand that it might be considered a bit controversial I think I would put up a considerable reward if my lad was stolen - best of luck finding him, the owner must be distraught.
  9. My manager had the same operation about 6 years ago - you would not recognise him now, he has so much more stamina and energy - got a new job and loving life - good luck, keep a positive mental attitude is my only advice.
  10. Nice to see you back TT - struggling to find a scope suitable for the era at the moment so happily scanning "for sales" again. Wanted a 35 since I was in my teens, had a 50 (too ungainly and always felt a bit chubby) and a 45 (superb rifle but too heavy for me nowadays) so I'm looking forward to living with the 35 and putting it up against the Squirrels. I have ordered a one piece mount in preparation for recoil shift on the scope so I am hoping to get reasonable accuracy from her as long as she has not suffered any amateur fettling. The old girl will play alongside my brace of S410's - one of which was the cause of much amusement Sunday - an unfortunate Squirrel happened upon the remaining Hazelnuts in my garden and was busy enjoying said Nuts atop my shed when one of Air Arms finest blew it's mind - as it hit the floor my Spaniel decided to grab it and run around the garden shaking it with some vigour causing blood to spray over my fence panels resulting in what could best be described as a Banksy meets a Zombie painting.
  11. Never thought much would come out of the dipstick hole - only Oil mist surely and that normally gets routed back into the combustion chamber?
  12. Got to say that the most reliable and accurate of the 3 is the AA S410 .
  13. Don't get hung up on chokes and wether or not you have the right choke for the right job at this stage - plenty of people spend their lives changing from one choke to another and forget to concentrate on gun fit and swing - if your gun is pointing at the target then you will hit it, plenty of time in the future to decide which choke suits your type of shooting best.
  14. Do yourself a favour and don't bother with a steam mop - they pick up naff all dirt - borrow one and steam "clean" your floor then get a floor wipe (aldi do good ones - apple scented) and wipe the floor with it - you will be amazed at the dirt left on the floor.
  15. Email the word "COWARD" to craig.mackey2@met.police.uk - or lets post him a white feather - when I think of the young men who were punished due to LMF during the last war this yellow SOAB needs publically humiliating. As for your remarks ClemFandango I would put money on the fact that even you would have reacted to protect this officer.
  16. Update - after countless hours of scanning the Ads I finally decided on a 70's Original 35 in .22 flavour. I have history regarding this gun that I have written about before so will not bore anyone further but it's a gun that I have always admired. It's in the post as I write so , fingers crossed, it is as good as the pictures suggest and once I have found a period scope I will write further regarding my findings - so far the gun / one piece mount and scope are looking like coming in under £200 so it will be interesting (I hope) to see if such a budget combo (hate that expression) can still "cut the Mustard" where Nutty bashing is concerned. Fingers crossed I will be in heaven (or tears) by the weekend - anyone know where I can find a 70's scope in reasonable nick?
  17. I would imagine that he was doing what most Police Officers do these days - checking that the car used by the Terrorists was taxed and insured. On a more serious note he should be sacked for cowardice in the face of the enemy. Reading the report it also looks like he had his car driven away without even attempting to see if he could assist the downed officer - unbelievable, there was a time when he would have been shot for such actions.
  18. yes please - pm me your details regarding payment.
  19. HW60J stunning accuracy - mates fires v-max into 2p size groups at 100 yards all day.
  20. Try some different Ammo - the .17's are often very fussy - buy 1 box of whatever you can find and test them - find the best and go back and buy as many as you can from the same supplier/batch.
  21. People who stand at my front door for 5 minutes reading my "No Junk Mail" sign before putting Junk Mail thru my letterbox. Xfactor.
  22. You must be mad not to shop around every year - some comparison sites will even remind you just before your insurance is due. There is little doubt that some companies offer lower premiums in the first year to tempt you - they then sting you the following year so shop around and whoever you insure with should be informed that you do not agree to Auto Renewal. On a slightly different note - if you ask Adrian Flux for a quote they have a habit of simply posting you your completed insurance documents even if you turn down their policy .
  23. You should be able to access your medical records online - ask your surgery how to do it - cannot see why you cannot copy and send to the Police?
  24. Second foray yesterday - got to wood only to find 7-8 Caravans parked up and the woods overrun by little feral kids. Shooting has been stopped until the local council remove their fingers and do something .
