  1. Sorry should have put what they are:- skeet lt mod/3/8s Mod/ half
  2. 3 ported Rhino Mobil chokes for sale in very good condition. To be sold as a job lot and not to be split. These are really excellent chokes which throw brilliant patterns! Only selling as no longer have the gun which uses this Mobil type. £75 plus postage for the three. Please PM if interested
  3. Well just had my shotgun certificate renewed on time by Lincolnshire Police, so well done to them as I had quite a few changes on there to say the least. Think the secret is to get the application in well early like several months. They are good in that they will let you send a photocopy of your old certificate with your application.
  4. Tim Greenwood is excellent on Perazzis at West Drayton near Hodnet Shooting Ground. Not exactly near Leicester but it would be worth having a trip over to see him.
  5. Just read Mr Potter's account, the same thing happened to a friend of mine he also shot 111 in A and would have been = with Mr Potter. Apart from the cost involved and travelling etc it's like saying OK you won A class at Grange Farm but you won't get anything until you also win Orston in 2 or 3 days time. How often does that happen ? Some of these guys have shot "out of their skins" and get nothing for it. There has got to be a better way of doing it!
  6. Strange old game isn't it! I was the other way round, 102 at the English, 94 at the British. What made the British tricky for me was a couple of stands where the clays were difficult for me to see against the background. The younger members of the squad did not seem to have a problem!
  7. Shooting it Saturday pm., get my excuses in now:- after about 30 years clay shooting thought it about time to have a gun fit. Found out that I have been mounting the gun incorrectly, my left eye is taking over and my stock is too high. So got to remember to get the stock in the shoulder pocket, keep my right elbow up and disregard the patch on the lens of my glasses! Apart from that I should be alright!
  8. If you are in South Lincs, I would recommend Mark Russell at Grimsthorpe Estate Shooting Ground, they are on Facebook. The ground is near the village of Edenham.
  9. The FITASC sporting practice is a very recent introduction and I believe is situated on the far side of the ground near the pond.Saw when I was there at the weekend that they are now opening on a Thursday and Friday as well as the usual Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. As regards that difficulty on the sporting I think that when the new owners took over it was as difficult as as when Charlie had it but the last couple of shoots I've shot there have been easier but still a good round. They new owners seem to be willing to put new things on and change the targets every week. They are also investing in the infrastructure with new outdoor seating and from what I hear new traps etc.
  10. Very good shoot in a woodland setting. For a newby should be ideal as normally a good variety to suit all. Good value, £25 for 100 birds last time I went but you need someone to button for you. They have a web site if you want to check when it's on.
  11. I traded a Caesar Guerini for a DT10 with them earlier this year. I was happy with the deal, and they put a different pad and front bead on the DT10 while I waited. Although the CG was not very old, they were very thorough at checking it out. The trade in price was on the low side but on the other hand the DT10 was priced reasonably. The DT 10 turned out to be very sound but needed a little bit of cosmetic TLC but least they had not tried to "tart" it up. All in all the service was good.
  12. Just shot it today, really good shoot and great fun. Several 3 in the air at one time stands!
  13. Any painters and decorators on here available for some immediate work? Son has just moved house and the whole place needs painting top to bottom inside. Anyone interested please send me a PM.
  14. Was feeling really envious after reading reports of the first couple of days, sunny weather great targets, scenery etc. Then it turned into what we half expect and get over here, torrential rain mud etc. and suddenly don't feel so bad!
  15. I had one from new, years ago, it definitely had the teardrop on it. It was a beautiful looking gun but don't know if it was because it was a 32" in but never liked the way it handled and eventually sold it.
  16. Had one of these Erbauer drills for several years, always worked fine for occasional domestic work. Batteries still OK. If need be I would buy another!
  17. Also there are two rings and inner brass type one and an outer one. Tried to send you a picture but it did not go through. If you send me a PM with your email address, I can try it that way.
  18. Yes the sloping edge points towards the muzzle. Hope of use!
  19. I got a kit from Brownells in the States to revamp an old A5, think it only cost about $15 and got a local gunsmith to put all the bits in for. another tenner. Never missed a beat after that. Mine is quite badly pitted but the barrels are so thick that the gunsmith assured me it would not be a problem. Brownells now have a site in the UK - might be worth having a look.
  20. What always amazes me is the cost of being a gun on a lot of shoots is phenomenal c.£14,000 a season on one of my local shoots but everyone seems determined to pay beaters peanuts ( and we are not all monkeys )!
  21. Fantastic pictures, we sometimes get them visiting our fen. Saw one about 6 weeks ago, it was on the dyke bank about 50 yards in front of me whilst walking the dogs. As I walked towards it it kept lifting and moving along a bit then settling again. It eventually disappeared over a hedge into the next field.
  22. I know two guys who have health issues and have had long delays getting a renewal. Lincolnshire police are now saying on their website that if you think you have a medical condition which might affect your renewal then it is down to you to get and pay for a doctors report. They also state that applications should be put in 8 weeks before the renewal date. Both my mates filled in the form in the usual way and then found out they needed a medical report, thus really delaying the process.
  23. Found LV to be very good, if ever you have any claims etc they deal with the whole thing. I found with one insurance I had with the Post Office when my wife had an accident I had to deal with five or six different parties and was the only person coordinating it.
  24. Great fight but really suprised Lawler got the victory when Condit out struck him something like three to one!
  25. Big fan of UFC! The training these guys put in is phenomenal! My money would be on Aldo.
