  1. Ladder trap is slowing down a bit but 8 jackdaws and 5 magpies yesterday, one of the magpies was in a cage trap set for squirrels. I couldn't figure out what was going on but there was a pheasant and a magpie in the trap at the same time, that took some doing!
  2. Not just eating donuts? Those cars sit outside Liverpool Airport and on a couple of occasions I have been past them in a car that was not taxed or MOT'd without them pulling me.

    MS Word?

If Office is installed on your pc you can still use it, they make it hard to find but it is still there (on mine anyway). It is not installed on my laptop though so on there I use the online (free) version, some of the functions are limited but still usable and still syncs the documents to Onedrive. www.office.com
  4. This evening there was a smaller bird on the feeder than usual, I assumed it was a coal tit and much smaller than the regular blue tits. I googled for small tits and not one of the images shown was a match and I looked through about 25 pages of images before giving up. Can't wait for the targeted adverts to come through.

    Card only sales.

Police officers are high on that list too, in fact the higher the rank the higher on the list.
  6. Well maybe they are using our example as a reason not to do what we did. Us not locking down early on didn't seem to me to do much good. Whatever, it is Australia and they must do what they think fit. Drop them a line if you think you have something to offer.
  7. 18 more jackdaws, 2 magpies and a crow today. 1957
  8. They haven't really had covid out there like we have, they have kept it out and locked down hard as soon as it has appeared. Total of 910 deaths so far I believe. If they didn't lock down as a recent response to a few cases they would just be at the start of what happened in this country.
  9. I have become plagued by jackdaws so on Sunday I built a ladder trap, baited it Monday and Tuesday and put the tops on it on Tuesday night. Took 46 jackdaws out of it tonight, plus one magpie that went into my larsen trap. 6 jackdaws left in the trap and another one in the squirrel trap next to it. The 46 added to the total make it 1936
  10. I was told by someone that knows that the peregrine is pretty dumb, they rely on their speed rather than their wits. 30 something years ago I was at the top of Beeston Castle and was looking down on a buzzard and peregrine scrapping. Back then buzzards were as rare a sight as peregrines.
  11. Yes I have, they were very helpful. I have bought two 4G routers and an external aerial off them
  12. Speak to these people. https://www.solwise.co.uk/ They do what you are asking for.
  13. Not so sure myself but mine was female as it goes.
  14. Been there, done that! You have to fight your corner like you have never done before, the odds are stacked against you but that doesn't mean you can't win. A good solicitor can help, you need good mates to talk to and give you a balanced view to keep your head straight. Don't ever fight in front of the kids, don't ever say anything bad about their mum to them, be the best dad you can. Paid off in my case, best of luck to you.
  15. Was it even illegal if they were working together? I know plenty who were going to work at that time and no social distancing. People weren't working in kitchens, building sites, and many other jobs where they were in close contact with their colleagues wearing masks all the time. Building sites never closed down and most Transits I saw on their way to work were 3 up in the front with no masks. I don't think they lost their jobs as a result. Not condoning the playing away part but although I think it wrong I don't think you should lose your job over it. It would be a bit disastrous if everyone playing away got sacked. Being rubbish at your job is what should get you sacked but then all the politicians would be out on their ear.
  16. I would expect them to take it like a man.
  17. My company pretty much ignored most of the lockdown rules but still generally observed social distancing rules although not strictly to the letter of the law when under the harshest of rules in place at the height of the epidemic. Staff just followed common sense approach to it all and thought for themselves on how to judge what was appropriate. Not one single case, not one single "close contact".
  18. I can remember the olden days when most folk had a wristwatch (but definitely not everybody). When it came to brew time or lunchtime in a group of 6 people you would get 4 different times with a 10 minute range, one of the group wouldn't have a watch and the other had forgot to wind it.
  19. I would be very surprised if any of the lawn weedkillers would harm bees, insecticides are what would harm them. I see literature suggesting Roundup (glyphosate) might harm them but you wouldn't use that on a lawn anyway as it would kill the lawn too. I would suggest anything from the garden centre to control broad leaved weeds in lawns would be fine, if you are happy to keep the bees in for a day then so much the better but I doubt it necessary. I would spray late evening when it is calm and the bees would be less active then anyway. I would also avoid exceptionally warm weather to do it as there can be an increased risk of vapours.
  20. I bought a Sealey version but wish I hadn't, it definitely does not do what it says on the tin. Only tried it on 4 vehicles and it only started one of them, jump leads started the other 3.
  21. Just had Howdens kitchen fitted and very pleased but DIY would be the alternative, only heard good things about them. Got Howdens at trade so not too bad (missus paid for it anyway :D)
  22. I'd say it was mayweed but if it really has been planted as a crop it might be chamomile.
