  1. Nicest pork I have ever had by a long way was from home grown Oxford Sandy & Black pigs fed on ad lib apples.
  2. Tried it without a moderator? Cockeyed threading may be an issue. I would try Eley subs, I would also try a few other decent makes of sub. Some guns are very fussy about ammo (not usually quite that fussy though). For years if anyone suggested using Eley subs I would just assume they were completely mental, might as well throw them at the target as shoot them as far as I was concerned. Winchester subs were the only choice in my opinion. Then I changed gun from a Mod 2 to a 452 and the complete opposite was true. Now here I am suggesting Eley subs might be a good move, how the worm has turned.
  3. I save the heads from my still. Perfect for the job.
  4. I was given an expensive/valuable bottle of port. I drank it.
  5. If that does happen I will just do them up a bit more.
  6. Just done mine and used concrete bolts and fastened it higher then the skirting. Spacing it away from the skirting will leave a gap which I know my feo would not allow as it gives somewhere to lever it off. I also prefer it fastened flush to the wall without spacers because they would just sink into the plasterboard, no spacers mean the whole of the back of the cabinet is flat to the wall. Drill 8mm hole for 10mm bolt, screwfix sell them and so does my local gunshop for fastening the cabinets. Glad to see them selling them as it was what I had already used for mine

    Cherries

Why would you need decoys, they are there waiting for you. What is your office policy regarding guns out of the window?

    India

I was stood in Manchester Airport waiting for Mum in Arrivals, a couple stopped on their way out and said to me in hushed tones "This is England isn't it?" They were being serious, the airport was packed as apparently the entire family has to go to collect anyone arriving and there were very few white folk in there. I don't want to sound racist either because I don't think I am, it is foolish to allow entry from high risk places no matter where they are. Immediately prior to the first lockdown I came back to UK from a holiday in Oz, in front of my seat was a Chinese lad wearing a mask. Even then I was thinking ***? Why are people coming in from China but I was allowed in so why not him, for all I know he was English and just coming home from a fishing holiday in Oz. (probably not.) No reason why people shouldn't question me being allowed back in having travelled to that part of the world at that time.

Fear of being called racist will be high on that list.
  11. Another vote for GiffGaff. Monthly contract that you can change or even leave whenever you want. Very reasonable price, works off the O2 network so good coverage. I don't think there is a customer service number though, done over the internet via chat IIRC. Never needed them but if it is that bad it's easy to leave without penalty anyway. I have been with Three for many years but their customer service is just terrible, only people you can speak to are in India, English is not their first language and they can only repeat what is on the sheet in front of them. I am convinced it is Three policy is to pay someone a tiny amount of money and sit there saying the same thing over and over until you give up. I have two mobiles and 4G internet, all used to be Three but thankfully the last 24 month contract ran out 2 months ago. Still tying to sort that one out and not getting anywhere, it is very difficult to sort anything out when they won't let you access your account online and the only alternative is the useless call centre in India. They promised to email me my final bill within 2 hours of the phone call, that was 5 days ago and still no email. I just get letters saying I owe money but no way of paying and various threats about credit agencies and debt collectors instead.

    Coolbox

I have a Dometic cool ice and as already said, a bag of ice cubes are still ice cubes several days later.
  13. I don't know of any chemicals that would be used to kill weeds (dandelions) that would also kill bees. If for some reason he had some insecticide left in his tank it might be enough to cause such a disaster. One of the problems farmers face is that so many chemicals have been withdrawn from use (banned as the media like to call it) that there is a very limited selection of insecticides left, of those there are very few if any that are bee friendly. Generally speaking the insecticides left are absolutely lethal to bees, and all other insects be they good or bad. The neonicotinoids were supposedly going to replace the organophosphates that used to be the most usual choice but it turned out they apparently harmed bees. Not all of them did, some were claimed to be completely harmless to bees but they fell under the umbrella of the blanket ban. Unfortunately the remaining choices are mostly pyrethroids, they kill everything and I personally won't use them because they do more harm than good by killing beneficial insects as well as the target pest.
  14. I didn't suggest anyone disregard scientific studies, you said that not me. My point was you shouldn't blindly believe what anybody tells you, scientists or otherwise. As for evidence to back up my claim, there is plenty of that out there should you wish to find it. The evidence can prove I am right and can also prove you are right which would also prove I am right too.
  15. If you want to scare yourself silly put the following search into Google. rape pollen dogs
  16. The thing with scientists is that they are very good at finding what they are looking for. ie they can often be biased into finding the results they wanted to find. If they want to prove that masks don't work they will find the appropriate data, if another group of scientists want to prove that masks do work they too will find the appropriate data to back them up. Statistics are another good example, statistics can be used to prove pretty much anything you want them to. Couple that with whatever Government you care to speak of and their agenda and you would be rather foolish to believe what you are told.
  17. I get that bit but I would still consider changing its position slightly and drilling new holes the correct size.
  18. I used these in a breeze block wall and I can swing off it without it coming loose. Do them up tight but over tighten and I expect they mess up.
  19. Sounds a bit dramatic to say sorry for your loss but I am all the same. Would be interested to know what he sprayed and also why. What was the crop meant to be because dandelions aren't a crop and I know of no weedkillers that would also get bees. It could be his sprayer had some insecticide left over from previous operations. No doubt the farmer would be defensive if asked but he might tell you. I am a farmer and I go out of my way not to kill bees but I have no doubt there have been times I have done so by accident.
  20. Prosecute the sellers with large on the spot fines. Nobody set out to police the carrier bag ban that I am aware of but it seems to have been pretty effective.

    Tesco's fruit .

The only way you can stop that is by using fungicides. Lots of fungicides have been withdrawn from use and the ones that are left don't do a very good job. I've been a commercial raspberry grower most of my life and long term storage and long distance travel have never really been solved as far as raspberries or strawberries are concerned. There was a comment about hard strawberries, that is one of the ways around it, breed fruit better suited to transport and storage but so far it has been at the expense of flavour and texture. The supermarkets use centralised storage/distribution depots so fruit produced in Worcester for example may well be transported down to Kent before being distributed to the Evesham store. Doesn't do them any favours.
  22. Shall we say he was inappropriately dressed and brought it upon himself too? I'm no expert on such matters but I do know male rape victims suffer even more because they are expected to have fought back enough to prevent the attack. That makes it even more traumatic for them and does indeed lead to suicide in far too many cases. Some pretty shameful comments in this thread tbh.
