Noticing a lot of pigeon on clover in the fields
-
Good to hear The change in the weather has certainly made them start flocking up here One of my fields must have had 100/200 goldies in it - just up the road the farmer could not get the sunflowers in and i bet that had a flock of 1000 mixed

Yes - i sometimes highlight these facts on RSPB instagram page
-
Hundreds and hundreds about in the woods today - in the fog

With the advent of thermal it is increasingly obvious the number and damage that foxes actually do Sometimes when people have multiple permissions they are not on the ground enough to see what is happening - and almost skim the top of the land rather than get really into it. How do you judge it has no effect ? We monitor the birds by counts and since we stepped up fox and indeed corvid control have seen marked upswings in number of those and indeed hares too.

Up here we are getting more and more - i might see 40/50 a day now when decoying - in the past only a half dozen

May i suggest go second hand beretta or browning or miroku and never worry about the gun again -
Good man - enjoy and take care and good luck with the sale - i think it looks really nice 🤩
-
Good man - get it bought !
-
I suppose thats the thing - the markets impacts the value of your gun - but also many others - That Chapius sounds very very cheap ?
-
How much is it ?
-
Very interesting thread Thanks Dave

We bought one and then to be honest by the time you have attached it loaded it and messed about it was easier just to hand feed from a bag or a bucket - it depends how much area you have to cover i suppose. We actually used a salt spreader that i bought from auction for very little and one of the lads just adapted it a bit so not too much feed would come out

Transit Custom i would suggest Own a van yard actually but a fair trip for you

Nice write up WOW thats some decoys !

To be honest for the sake of an extra 2-300 quid or saving the same for a gun that fits it really doesnt matter i dont think - particularly with such a lovely gun that you will perhaps keep

Good luck in person or on a phone Sir ! The apps they have seem very good TSB online bank is a disaster

Been on it for an hour or two in the morning here for about 2 weeks - and in the woods or on the sunflowers later Do they like the variety i wonder ?
-
No we have very few - but we do have several shoots and a turkey farm or two ! I have seen the odd fox chase the odd hare but they soon realise the game is up - they are far more inclined to chase game birds like a dog would - they keep on chasing until the bird lands and then go again - in the dark - Its incredible to see it - I once had one do it and it brought the fox to me - It will never do it again. As i watch the foxes they mainly patrol the hedgerows looking for partridge, nests and mice/voles I think because it was all hunting land - its ideal for the foxes with spinneys and coverts all over

Yes thats odd The lads are going to Caithness next week - im not i didnt want to see or chase them if they have the flu - if they have the lads will go fishing - so i wonder what they will see I do wonder about the wind
