  5. hello, night vision has come a long way since i started many years ago, first one from usa bust on first night ATN ****, next yukon sentinal, good but very heavy and tubed eg non digital, i did try an add on but could not hassle using a screen and these came in about 15 years ago, yukon then mentioned a new digital and every one on the shooting forums were waiting like me, the first batch of photons sold out just on back orders, i got mine on second batch september 2013, what a difference to night shooting, fast forward a few years and with the new XTs and high quality add ons, now the thermal for night shooting there is so much choice depending on budget even a DIY add on can be made about £100. yet i know some who still like lamping, let us know how you get on Terry. cheers

  12. hello, yes i see that, maybe i could use some type of paint, hello, i will have to make one at the small farm i sometimes shoot on so it needs to be quite basic thats why i thought of using a dustbin. i see one for a tenner on ebay in abingdon, i am only thinking trout that i catch up to 4/5 llb and it will stay at farm so family can use to, all though they do not like trout much, but did enjoy smoked trout,
  13. hello, try Fiocchi UK 01827 383466
  14. hello, contact Dave-G on here for night vision spotters and day scope add ons, i can only give my opinion on the early photons not the XTs but from the many reviews are very much improved from the early ones, which they do not sell now anyway, the XT have a very different set up and far better in distance and clarity, even better with added doubler as in stewarts set up, i would expect the nightmaser and black sun I/R pil would be an ideal combination, note from oowee as mentioned, some early XTs had zero problems but the 2018 batches from yukon and the UK importer i think has been resolved but best make sure you can ask your RFD, or thomas jacks in stratford upon avon
  15. hello, any PW members made their own SMOKER from the above or ???? all advice welcome. photos would be handy to see end result, cheers

  17. hello terry, if you only want to scan the hedge rows what about a hand held night vision spotter, then something like stuarts set up for your rifle, you might be lucky to get a photon XT second hand but not sure on warranty, new yukon is 3 years, i reckon a spotter and XT plus a good I/R torch around £750, a chap on PW makes quality spotters
  18. hello, 900 X hatty?? wrong they have a better fore sight/silencer thingy
  19. hello, your going to need something pretty special in the way of night vision, i do not think the new X Ts photon can do 500 yards without a lens doubler, i think you can get something to eliminate screen shadow, i am thinking of a good side focus scope and a WG760 ad on from aliexpress but that has limitations, lets see what the more knowledgeable members say
