I tried some 525s a while back and they don’t really do anything for me. Had a couple of silver pigeons since. However, I just picked up a 2015 model 525 in a dealer last week, while idly looking through the guns for sale. It has an adjustable and extended stock (16” - but I’m tall with long arms) and a trap fore end. Can’t believe the difference in fit/feel- like this is what I’ve been missing all these years. Feels like an extension of my arm, pretty much bought it on the spot. Hence my Beretta (much better condition and better looking gun imo) now relegated to the classifieds...

Everyone here can only speculate. Only thing I’d add is that our justice system is (rightly imo) often criticised for being too lenient. If you got a 12 month sentence for a first offence then the offending must have been of some significance on the scale? Again, I am however only speculating. Pretty sure most forces will let you apply and if it becomes apparent that you would get refused, will ask you to withdraw your application as opposed to refuse it, and therefore avoid having a refusal on record. This would pave the way to applying more successfully at some point in the future.

Maybe not what you want to ask as soon as you are in the door, but do most bases not have an armoury that can be used (within reason) for privately owned firearms? This may be a bit out of date and not every part of military mind you.

While GPs are entitled to do this (as they are on other moral issues, like abortion), they are obliged to pass you to another Doctor who would not object to the request, if that is what you want. Yes, you’ll likely get someone asking for the thick end of £200 to look over a summary of your medical history, but at least you’d get it.

I’m no snowflake, but the domestic assault he was found guilty of was punching his girlfriend 20 times in a hotel room, then claiming she came about her injuries by falling in the room. The photos of her injuries are only a quick google away, they don’t make for comfortable viewing.

I think most would offer an opinion closer to your first & second reply than the third... Location will effect how easy it is, but even just outside Edinburgh the only thing that holds me back is my own time available.

Sold my car for cash but went to the bank with the buyer and paid cash directly into my account, I’ve no idea what £100 notes should look like, never mind fake ones. Online banking transfer was for 10k. No issues. Edited to add I did just as Pistol says above and sent £1 first, earlier in the day.

+1 to this. Particularly if your feet sweat in them (mine do!) then two pairs, alternating daily, makes a world of difference for your feet.

A friend built his own one. Takes a while to get going and only space for 1/2 pizzas at a time, but as above they cook very, very quickly and taste amazing.

In Scotland it is a defence (ie in court) that you were carrying the knife as part of a national costume. The offence refers to a ‘pointed or bladed article’ so I don’t think having no sharp edge would make a difference as it would still be pointy. So you can still be arrested for carrying one, but common sense dictates that cops wouldn’t waste their time arresting you for wearing one. Unless you were doing something stupid with it I guess.
